Watch: 'Jurassic Park' Re-Created with $100,000 Worth of LEGO Sets We're pretty big fans of LEGO sets around here, and we'll always go out of our way to feature cool movie-related stuff involving the classic building brick toy. There's a LEGO version of WALL-E on the way, and a massive S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier available now, and you can also get one of those LEGO Oscar statues if the project gets pushed through at LEGO Ideas (vote right here). And now a father and daughter who are fans of Jurassic Park have pooled their LEGO resources and gathered up over $100,000 worth of LEGO pieces to re-create an abridged version of the Steven Spielberg's modern classic, and it's pretty damn cool. If nothing else, it's something fun to keep us excited for this summer's release of Jurassic World. Jurassic World is directed by Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed), who rewrote the script with Derek Connolly from an earlier draft by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes).
No plot details are available yet, but the film has been said to feature a new operational dinosaur theme park, just as John Hammond imagined over 20 years ago. The cast includes Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson, Jake Johnson, Ty Simpkins, Vincent D'Onofrio, Irrfan Khan and B.D. Wong, reprising his role from Jurassic Park. Universal Pictures releases the film on June 12th. You get a crazy cool pteranodon and sweet little helicopter – and oh yeah, it shoots a net!!
This is one badass LEGO set right here. I would have loved this so hard as a kid. Seriously, if you are shopping for a kid, stop looking and buy them this set right now. Honestly, you cannot go wrong with this, I mean, it has a freaking helicopter that shoots a net! And even better, well maybe not better than a net-shooting helicopter, but this set is cheaper than the one listed above. By about ten bucks the last time I checked. So, it’s cheap and awesome. 3. LEGO Jurassic World Raptor Rampage 75917 Building Kit You can’t have Jurassic Park without velociraptors, which is why this is a necessary purchase for all you Jurassic World LEGO enthusiasts. This set comes with two raptors, a fun little motorbike and a mobile research truck that has a kickass rooftop shooter on it. How fun is that? And last I checked, it was on-sale at Amazon. 4. LEGO Jurassic World T. Rex Tracker 75918 Building Kit I seriously love how ferocious T-Rex looks in this set. Dude looks ready for some serious carnage, eh?
Well, his plans to eat that little Lego guy on the motorbike are about to come to halt when you use that harpoon-style trap shooter. Just watch out for those snapping jaws as you subdue the beast in the dino cage. 5. LEGO Jurassic World Indominus Rex Breakout 75919 Building Kit If you only buy one of these LEGO sets, then please let it be this one. It is the perfect combination of all the awesome bits of the sets above compiled into a single epic LEGO Jurassic World set. You get the helicopter, you get a crazy cool looking T-Rex, you get the gyro sphere, you et a dino impound center, some random chicken legs, four mini figures, and just a whole lot of general awesomeness. The only bad thing about this set is that it’s the most expensive of the bunch, however it is kind of like getting several sets in one, so it’s a pretty decent value for the money.
