So I do apologize for the delay in my New York Toy Fair 2017 LEGO coverage.

Earlier today I kicked off LEGO Summer 2017 sets coverage on Marvel Toy News with the first of the two newly-revealed LEGO Spider-Man Homecoming sets, and now let’s take a look at the other one here: the LEGO Beware The Vulture 76083 set! Earlier today I kicked off LEGO Summer 2017 sets coverage oEGO Summer 2017 sets–the ATM Heist Battle–over on my Marvel blog today. I think that that’s a cute little $19.99 quasi-impulse buy item, but as the “main” set for the movie, 76083 Beware The Vulture has a lot more to live up to (including a price tag that’s twice as much). And while I wasn’t floored when I first cast my eyes on this Vulture set at Toy Fair on Saturday, the more I look at my photos and reflect on the set, the more I like it… The main selling point for this set is the largest and most complicated LEGO Marvel minifigure that we’ve ever seen (sort of): the Vulture! See, while the Vulture minifigure itself is just a regular Minifig, his Flight Pack Wings are brick-built and humongous!

I didn’t have a ruler with me in the booth (for obvious reasons), but I’d estimate that Vulture’s wings are close to a foot long from tip-to-tip! This will be a seriously impressive (and intimidating) villainous minifigure once he’s fully built and equipped! Three other Minifigures come with the set: another MCU movie Spider-Man, a new Iron Man minifigure and a mystery character. The Spidey figure features the new “Web Blast!” action feature (a web attachment you flick at enemies), whereas that new Iron Man mini figure’s colors look suspiciously inspired by Ultimate Iron Man. Hmmmm. The big, mysterious intrigue surrounding this set is the identity of the unknown fourth minifigure included. Could it be a LEGO Shocker or Tinkerer minifigure? Neither of those names seems big enough to obscure, so I’m really at a loss as to who would be shadowed out on the box. My best guess is that the identity of that character being in cahoots with the villains is some sort of spoiler for the film, but I think we’re going to have to wait and see.

What are your thoughts on this, brick fans? In addition, the set includes one vehicle (other than the Vulture wings): a white truck that can open up to reveal a sort of rocket launcher turret. The truck is being driven by the mystery character on the box art. The unassuming white truck is rather bland on its own with very few stickers decorating it, but I dig the attack mode conversion with rocket launcher in the back. At 375 pieces for $39.99, I think LEGO 76083 Beware The Vulture may be just a hair overpriced at about 10.66 cents per piece, which is just an average value for a licensed set. Nothing I’ve seen in the trailers has really sold me on this movie at all yet, so I suspect my overall enjoyment of this set will be largely dependent upon the role and appearance this scene plays in the Spider-Man Homecoming movie. If the scene isn’t a winner, this set will be a pass for me. The 76083 LEGO Spider-Man Homecoming Beware The Vulture set is scheduled to be released officially on 6/1/2017, although even street-dated movie sets oftentimes get put into store shelves a bit early by mistake.

I’ll post updates to the Brick Toy News Facebook and Twitter Pages both when this set goes up for order and when it’s spotted in stores. What do you think of the larger of the two Spidey Homecoming movie sets? Are you planning to pick up either (or both) sets from the movie, and who do you think the mystery minifigure is?404. Hope you enjoyed the fun. 15.03 Mackie: “I have the biggest trailer. But Robert has five of them.”

Bruhl: “I was invited to Robert Downey Jr’s village.” 15.02 What would superheroes be like in the real world? Evans: “In the real world I’d be Team Iron Man! There’d have to be oversight. 15.01 Is there an intermission in this press conference? 14.59 How hard is it to look like that? Evans: “I think it’s me, that’s not CG is it?” “I genuinely messed something up in my arm on the helicopter scene.” “There were many days I’d come into DJR’s trailer (almost namechecks Batman!) and he has cool healing stuff.” Mackey: “Rubbing down Chris, that’s sweet. 14.58 Evans: “Exciting when I read the script. When you bring DJR into a film it’s amazing. This leaves the MCU in a bit of disarray so will be great for future films.” 14.56 Feige: “Civil War came out during the construction of our film company, so I thought it’d be cool to do some day.” Also, Stan Lee’s role usually features in the draft scripts. 14.55 What was Fury and Hill doing during this film?

Kevin Feige: “You’ll find out later.” 14.55 The characters were put in for the story, not to make more movies. Black Panther doesn’t care about either side. 14.53 RDJ: Weekend at Bucky’s film is on the cards, with Falcon and Winter Soldier. We think they’re kidding 🙂 14.52 Cap would take vision’s powers, but not his makeup. Vision: “it might be nice to be Iron Man.” Renner: I’ve always liked Spider-Man. 14.50 How do you see the characters progressing and how much is that down to the script? RDJ: “looking back at the last 10 years, at what needed to happen to make things happen, Chris Marcus and McFeelly did an exceptional job on this.” 14.49 We’re not doing this one – massive spoiler! See, we love you 😀 14.48 Bucky’s scenes were all chopped up over a long period. Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier) says he did a lot of “acting with tennis balls” 14.47 Evans: Justice League hasn’t made us raise our game. We

don’t make movies based on what anyone else does. 14.44 How do the guys with weaponry but no powers deal with the less-than civil war. Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson / Falcon): “Thighs and quads, baby. Gotta give them what they want. Can’t have a tree without the trunk!” 14.43 Vision and Wanda are joined by not knowing the extent of their powers. They both come from that stone. 14.42 Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch) didn’t feel like she had to be blokey amongst the testosterone. Ne
14.41 Daniel Bruhl isn’t confirming more movies for his character. But he loved the character, such a human bad guy. 14.40 RDJ: Now two out of three Spideys are English, we need to talk Tobey Maguire down off the ledge. 14.38 Is Spider-Man’s recruit using child soldiers? Ant Russo: Tony doesn’t wan to lose this fight, and also sees Spidey as the greatest living non-lethal weapon. He believes he’s taking one of the most powerful Marvel characters, but he is mentoring him.

14.37 Rudd was aloowed to play around with the character. Felt the cousin turning up in The Brady Bunch. 14.36 “My questions for Paul?” “Wttany: “My own town!” 14.34 Emily VanCamp (Sharon Carter) is here! Is her relationship with STeve “a little icky”? “It is one generation removed, so no.” 14.33 Evans says they’ve never really fallen out on set, it’s “like a sumer camp”. Downey Jr says “speak for yourself, my son has started wearing Cap PJs and that breeds a resentment” 14.32 Which superhero would you choose to have in real life? The directors say it’s tough, but Bettany says “come on, I can pick up the hammer and am omnipotent” 14.31 Iron Man is out of suit a lot in the film. How does that play to your persona? He’s happy to play the character not “gussied-up” 14.30 Cap describes Iron Man as “charasmatic” while Iron Man calls Cap “Rad-ass”. 14.29 The directors describe themselves as action fetishists, although it has to define the characters and play to the story.

14.27 A loud whistle comes from the other room. Sounds like they’re being marshalled in our direction. 14.25 We’re expecting Chris Evans (Steve Rogers / Captain America), Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark / Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson / Falcon), Don Cheadle (Lieutenant James Rhodes / War Machine), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton / Hawkeye), Chadwick Boseman (T’Challa / Black Panther), Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch), Anthony Russo (director) and his brother Joe Russo (director).
