En este caso el argumento se centra en las fases 1 y 2 del universo cinematográfico Marvel, es decir, las dos películas de Los Vengadores, Iron Man 3, Thor: Mundo Oscuro y las dos películas del Capitán América. Para ver tramas de Civil War deberás esperara a su anunciado DLC. Esto nos llevará por 12 divertidos niveles protagonizados por el grupo de superhéroes Marvel así como 3 niveles dedicados a tres iconos de la factoría: Iron Man, Thor y Capitán América. Junto a ellos viviremos aventuras repletas del humor LEGO, que respeta la trama de las películas pero añadiéndoles más toques de comedia apta para todas las edades. La trama principal de los 15 niveles da para unas 6 o 7 horas de juego, pero la diverisón no termina entonces: el juego cuenta con 7 mundos explorables libremente (a destacar la enorme ciudad de Nueva York) en los que puedes campar a tus anchas con cualquiera de los 200 superhéroes y villanos que hayas ido desbloqueando. En este mundo abierto puedes acabar de reclutar héroes y coleccionables y lograr ese ansiado 100% de juego completado.
Como siempre, este reto es el auténtico de la aventura y no tanto superar los fáciles desafíos del modo historia. LEGO Marvel Vengadores se complementa con un creador de superhéroes en el que, entre muchas opciones entre las que elegir, puedes crear un personaje a tu gusto que usarás en el modo libre. LEGO Marvel Vengadores no innova demasiado en la fórmula clásica de los juegos de Traveller's Tales. El título cuenta con una buena mezcla de plataformas, puzles y combate. De hecho el combate es lo que más abunda en esta entrega, con mecánicas bastante mejoradas. LEGO Marvel Vengadores hace, además, un buen uso de las combinaciones de las habilidades de los personajes para superar los niveles. En este sentido, el juego despliega todo su potencial si juegas con un amigo. LEGO Marvel Vengadores tiene unos buenos gráficos, toda la estética Marvel está bien adaptada al universo LEGO y las voces y músicas son los acertados. A pesar de eso, no está exento de problemas técnicos: la cámara no siempre responde como debería, lo que impide realizar acciones normales con comodidad.
