While images of the awesome Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice LEGO sets were just released officialy, images of the sweet Captain America: Civil War sets have leaked from the LEGO catalog. These sets are not always an accurate depiction of what happens in the films (see Iron Man 3's Sea Port Battle), but the Civil War sets showcase three battles: one with Winter Soldier, Black Panther, and Cap; the second with Falcon, Black Widow, and Crossbones;
and the last includes Cap, Agent 13, Scarlet Witch, and Winter Soldier, as well as War Machine, Iron Man, Ant-Man, and Giant-Man! There were previously credible rumors that Paul Rudd's pint-sized superhero would take on his Giant-Man form in Captain America: Civil War, and this LEGO revelation is far from confirmation, but it does make the possibility more likely. You will also notice that Spider-Man is missing from the sets, which makes sense given reports that the Web-slinger will be excluded from all promotion for the Marvel threequel. Spider-Man is poised to take the Marvel Cinematic Universe by storm over the coming years, as evidenced by ComicBook’s rankings where it sits as the 6th Most Anticipated Film by our users. After making a major splash in Captain America: Civil War, the ole Web-Head will next be seen in his own film before teaming up with the Avengers to take on Thanos. But before battling in the Infinity War, he has to deal with Homecoming, and as the film barrels toward its release date new information—and merchandise—has been trickling out. And now we might have our best look yet at a major set piece from the film, courtesy of BrickShow. At the New York Toy Fair, box images for new LEGO sets based on Spider-Man: Homecoming were finally revealed, showcasing two sets from the film. One includes the attempted robbery shown in the trailer. The other film hints at a major battle between Spider-Man, an (expected) ally, and the film’s main villain. However it also contains its own mystery, one that LEGO and Marvel are not be willing to reveal at this point.
But how much do these sets potentially spoil about the upcoming film ahead of its release in theaters? And how much can just be gleaned from the trailers? That might lead you to believe its Lego counterpart couldn’t quite live up to it, but as this shockingly good video shows, you’d be wrong. YouTube user Keshen8s video takes the concept of Civil War from the comics, and puts it into the Lego world of the movie, complete with a few cameos by your favorite characters. To celebrate Tony Stark’s new Lego mini-figure replicas, Marvel released Lego versions of two theatrical posters for the upcoming “Iron Man 3.” What can we say? Lego Tony Stark is adorable. Check out the Lego posters and “Iron Man 3” posters in the gallery above. “Iron Man 3” hits theaters May 3 following Robert Downey Jr.’s worldwide tour to South Korea, Beijing, Moscow, Munich, Paris and London promoting the film. The tour concludes with the Hollywood premiere of the movie on April 24. In “Iron Man 3,” Tony Stark faces off against the Mandarin, an arch-nemesis whose ring-garbed fingers are a familiar sight to comic book fans. In the comics, the Mandarin was an exiled orphan who discovered a crashed spaceship, mastered the alien science he found there and kept 10 powerful rings used to drive the ship. He used the rings’ power in his schemes for world domination. Ben Kingsley plays the Mandarin in the film, and other cast members include Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle as James Rhodes, “Iron Man” and “Iron Man 2” director Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, and Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian, a scientist who in the comics sells a super-soldier virus to terrorists. The game, from Warner Bros.
