After the SDCC reveal of the awesome Green Arrow suit for season 4, these were inevitable. Now with only a couple of days left to spare, I managed to finish all three figures that I’ve had planned just in time for the premiere! I should mention though, there’s a ton of detail on these figures that can’t be seen here. So I highly recommend checking out the showcase video! Alright, lets just jump into it. For this new suit, I wanted to make sure that it didn’t look too much like my old 2014 Arrow, so that involved a redesign of his head and sculpting the hood this time around. Granted, I am well aware that this hood doesn’t sit well with everyone, and that’s totally fine. However, I didn’t really see Lego’s as a fit for him anymore (but I did try sanding the crap out of one at first), and while mine may look simple, it certainly wasn’t for me when sculpting it. It involved a ton of sanding afterwards, and a lot of paint to smooth it all out. Thankfully, unlike my Arno from Assassin’s Creed Unity, this hood is fully removable.

I’m also pretty proud of the head by the way, the likeness is much better, the new take on the design of his mask is much more accurate looking, and the facial hair is 10x cleaner. You might notice that the accessories on the sides of his torso are all three-dimensional, parts that I used include Tiny Tactical Chem Lights along with their holders and sliced up bits of 1x1 plant pieces. His arms unfortunately couldn’t fit everything, but I’m pretty satisfied with what I was able to pack in, and of course he along with Black Canary and Diggle all have glove tops from Tiny Tactical as well. The legs are pretty self explanatory, but it’s worth mentioning that I kind of rehashed the design on the bottom of each leg from my Daredevil. Other than that, he’s equipped with a modified BrickForge Recurve Bow along with one of their arrows and the head is painted green. Also, I’ve used the same quiver design since 2013, and that’s because it works, so Oliver here was no exception, but if you wanna see it then like I said I would recommend the showcase video linked above :P I’ll just put it out there right now;

Diggle’s new helmet/mask in season 4 is ridiculous for obvious reasons. I have to point out though, it’s not a helmet on the show, because if you pause certain shots of recent TV spots you can clearly see that’s its actually just a mask with straps holding it together. Unfortunately, I realized this when I was finishing up the figure and I sure as hell was not going to take a drill to the back of a helmet that I had already spent hours painting. Plus, it just flat out looks better on a LEGO minifigure the way it is. His torso is very simple as you can tell, but that’s because all of the detail comes out in the modified CapeMadness AR jacket in the form of the dotted pattern you see also extending onto his arms. There isn’t a lot on Diggle’s belt, but as you can tell there is plenty of detail on the rest of the legs. You’ll notice a couple of familiar things here too, for one I used the same Death Star Troopers leg design that you’ve seen on quite a few figures at this point, and I also used the same lace design on his boots that you see on Green Arrow, just with the buttons painted in a darker color.

You really can’t see them in this photo (which is once again why I can’t stress enough that you watch the showcase video), but he does have a Tiny Tactical cargo pocket (type 2) glued onto his left leg along with a custom “gun holster” glued onto his right. When it came to his gun, I kind of had to accept that there really aren’t any third party guns out there that look like the new one that he gets from S.T.A.R Labs in season 4. So, instead I took a MinifigCAT P99 and painted a portion of the top in the gold color that you see on the handle of the real thing. At the end of the day, accuracy basically flew out the window on this figure apart from the torso and legs, but I’m still satisfied with the end result! **SPOILERS** for Arrow’s third season if you haven’t seen it yet. Originally, I was going to make Laurel as Black Canary last year while Arrow season 3 was still going on, but that didn’t pan out because once the season had already ended I realized no one would care if I made her then so I just figured I would wait until season 4.

Anyway, as I mentioned in the showcase video, painting this figure kind of felt like I was painting Catwoman lol. However, getting the likeness to Katie Cassidy correct was still a priority, but I ran into a bit of an issue. Every time I pulled her hair piece off, it would take tiny bits of the paint with it, so I had to carve the crap out of it’s interior on and off for like two days before it finally stopped happening. For her nightstick, I used one from BrickForge with the round top sliced off and painted over. Laurel’s arm design is very similar to her sister’s, so it did kind of feel like a throwback to 2014 when painting these. Aside from that, the whole thing is just one big assembly of gray lines and buttons. However, I would like to point out how satisfied I am with the detail you see on both thighs. If you compare this to her actual costume, you’ll be able to tell just how accurate I managed to make both of them look. One other thing I do want to mention here, the straps, my god she has a lot of straps and buckles on her legs.

So as you can tell, I did manage to paint three onto each leg, and they do of course wrap around all four sides. An Arealight curved torso was used for her of course, and I should also mention she has a total of 54 buttons painted onto her suit. If you include the laces on Oliver’s boots however, he has her beat with a total of 56! So there you go! Thanks for reading all of that, and if you drop this a favorite, definitely let me know what you think down in the comments!! I’m already moving onto Halo 5: Guardians, so I have no plans for a Speedy figure at the moment. I like her character, and I’m glad that she now basically has her own version of Roy’s costume, but the time to make her simply isn’t there right now.Harper TheaRoy HarperArrow RoyRed ArrowLego ArsenalMinifig DcQueen ReadHero RedComics SuperForwardCustom Lego Arsenal Minifig DC Comics Super Hero Red Arrow Roy Harper Thea Queen * Read more at the image link. Following almost two years of procrastination, I finally decided to watch CW's show Arrow after having seen the trailer for it's spinoff series The Flash.

So of course, this happened. This figure was pretty straight forward, because his suit is fairly simple. By the time I had finished the torso and legs, I actually found myself wanting to add more details (such as the light green stripes on his front torso along with the design on his quiver). His arrow quiver is actually the same design that was used for my AC3 Connor Kenway last year, however this time instead of gluing it onto the torso; I've sealed it onto a heavily sanded neckpiece. This not only makes the quiver removable, but it also grants the minifigure’s head a bit more freedom. Painting Stephen Amell's face was the first step I took when making this figure, and I'm pretty satisfied with the end result. Also much like my Joel from The Last of Us, there is black thread running through both ends of his bow with an added green tint. All straps on his torso are three-dimensional as well, and Tiny Tactical glove tops were definitely a must ;) Arrow strays pretty far away from the comics, but other than Slade's story feeling a bit degrading to the iconic character, I still enjoyed both seasons regardless!
