Although the new Ghostbusters movie may have had mixed reviews from critics, you can't say that it wasn't a laugh. The cast were loveable, hilarious, and seriously inspiring to a whole load of little girls out there. And now Warner Bros have managed to make the story even better by translating it into Lego form with a brand new Lego Dimensions Story Pack to celebrate the second year of the toys-to-life franchise. What's interesting about the new Story Packs is that you get a lot of content for your money, both digitally and physically. All Story Packs going forward – Ghostbusters is the first and Fantastic Beasts arrives in November – will come with a character, a vehicle/other item and a brand-new gateway build. That's basically a new backdrop for your Lego Dimensions portal and for Ghostbusters it's Zhu's Chinese Restaurant. Fantastic Beasts gets MACUSA (The Magical Congress of the USA) .You also get a much longer new storyline with a Story Pack, especially compared with the Level Packs currently available.

With the Ghostbusters Story Pack you get to play through the plot of the new Ghostbusters movie in full, complete with newly recorded dialogue from the voice cast themselves. As with all the previous Lego titles, TT Games manages to inject its trademark humour into the already chuckle-worthy Ghostbusters movie. There are moments of hilarious crossovers, which we won't spot here, and even a nod to that Paul Feig Back to the Future movie gag if you discover the hidden Feig early on in the game. The story is brilliantly brought to life in Lego for the Story Pack too, with New York feeling vibrant and full of ghosts, ghouls and ghastly beasts. Some scenes have been omitted, though, and there isn't as much in the way of dialogue or story-setting scenes – it's all about the action here. However, if you've seen the movie, the Story Pack here does it more than justice, with an excellent retelling featuring novel twists and boss fights. The Balloon Parade was a particular highlight for us, with its crossover casts highlighting some of the new packs coming in the second wave of Lego Dimensions, but also because of its quirky boss fights and action-packed cutscenes.

In the box, you get the Lego Dimensions figurine for Abby Yates and the new Ecto-1 ghostbusting chariot. But there's something particularly special about Abby Yates in Lego Dimensions, in that you actually get four characters for the price of one. When she's on the Lego Dimensions portal, Abby also brings with her the other three members of the new Ghostbusters gang and each of the characters have their own skills and strengths in gameplay.Abby herself is obviously a dab hand with the Proton Pack and actually trapping ghosts, although all four of them can do that. But she also has the new Charge Transfer ability that allows her to store electricity in a weapon and then take it to another charge point. She's actually the only Lego Dimensions character that can do this so far. Then you've got Erin Gilbert, who can blow up Silver Lego Bricks and interact with the so-called "Technology" panels in the game. Jillian Holtzmann, on the other hand, is the best at fixing broken stuff and actually has a grapple hook for swinging across chasms or to new areas.

Finally, there's Patty Tolan, who has the super-strength ability and the unique Ghost Chipper that rips down the shields of ghostly entities in the story. You'll have to use all their abilities to move through the Story Pack, and you even get a brand-new Portal Mode called Rip that opens up two different tears in reality. The panels on your Portal will turn one pink and one yellow, opening up access to two alternate realities that hold key items, or Lego pieces, you'll need to move through the game. The puzzles are clever and inventive, rarely feeling repetitive due to the sheer amount of new skills and unique powers harnessed by the ladies in beige.TT Games keeps absolutely knocking them out of the park. This is one of the best recreations we've seen, and you get a whole lot of new Lego to go along with it.Prepare yourself for some serious giggles.Lego Dimensions Ghostbusters Story Pack release date: September 30, 2016Price: £37.99 (requires Lego Dimensions Starter Pack to play)Available on: Xbox One, PS4, Wii U (tested), Xbox 360, PS3

The Sales and Deals section of the Online LEGO Shop was recently updated with some interesting surprises. In addition, the Online LEGO Shop in the UK listed all the large sets that will be retiring soon, which is also interesting to see. Below we will take a look at both lists and see what is worth to buy before getting retired, and before the Double VIP Points period expires in a few days. ➡ ONLINE LEGO SHOP SALES & DEALS: A number of the older LEGO Dimensions packs are on sale, but this is not particularly a new development. You can buy most LEGO Dimensions packs at about half price both directly from LEGO and at other retailers. What is more interesting is that several newly released larger sets are on sale as well, with 20% off the regular price. This includes the #21127 LEGO Minecraft The Fortress, the #70322 LEGO Nexo Knights Axl’s Tower Carrier, and the #41067 LEGO Disney Princess Belle’s Enchanted Castle. Other notable sets on sale are some of the LEGO Nexo Knights Ultimate Knight packs, and the #40203 LEGO Vampire and Bat Halloween set. A

lso, the #41068 LEGO Disney Princess Arendelle Castle Celebration, and the #41066 LEGO Disney Princess Anne & Kristoff’s Sleigh Adventure have been on sale for many months now. They are great sets, but it is possible that LEGO made too many of them and they are not selling fast enough. You can find all the discounted sets under the Sales and Deals section of the Online LEGO Shop. ➡ ONLINE LEGO SHOP RETIRING SOON: While the US version of the Online LEGO Shop hasn’t been updated yet with sets retiring soon, the UK version lists a number of large and exclusive sets that are scheduled to retire. This means that once the current stock is gone, LEGO will make no more of these sets. Four of the sets are from the LEGO Ideas line, which are limited release to begin with. The four sets are: #21108 LEGO Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1, #21302 LEGO Ideas The Big Bang Theory, #21303 LEGO Ideas WALL-E, and #21304 LEGO Ideas Doctor Who. None of these sets are on sale, but if you want one, it is best to get them now before they will disappear and prices on the secondary market go up. Y

ou can find them under the LEGO Ideas section of the Online LEGO Shop. There are also two large LEGO Star Wars sets retiring soon. The #10236 LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village (released in 2013), and the #75059 LEGO Star Wars Sandcrawler (released in 2014) have both been around for a while, so it makes sense that LEGO is retiring them, even though they are both excellent sets. The LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village, in particular, is a great set even for non-Star Wars fans, who would like to build a nice forest scene for elves, Na’vi, or Robin Hood and his merry band of outlaws. You can find both sets under the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop. Two last two sets retiring soon are the #10218 LEGO Creator Pet Shop and the #10234 LEGO Creator Sydney Opera House. The LEGO Creator Pet Shop has been the longest standing LEGO Modular Buildings, first released back in 2011. It is the only building in the series that has a split footprint, making it extremely versatile. Even if you already have one, I would recommend getting another, just in case you ever need it in your layout. H
