Stream 9 Seasons on CraveTV LEGO Dimensions already lets players team the Doctor with, for example, Batman or Gandalf but the mashup of the Doctor Who universe and the LEGO world is about to become even more intertwined: word is that the Doctor is up for a role in the sequel to 2014’s super successful LEGO Movie. With a follow-up due out in 2018, director Rob Schrab is just in the early stages of planning the movie—not that it’s stopped him from discussing one pretty huge bit of casting news in interviews. Schrab was a guest on Dan Harmon’s podcast Harmontown earlier this week when the host asked him how the sequel was shaping up. Schrab immediately launched into a yarn concerning Will Ferrell stranded in the woods with a flat tire followed by a screed on the right way to pluralize LEGO, completely burying the big news: that he’s in talks with the BBC. “For real, I’m talking to the BBC on Thursday”, he told Harmon. “Oh I don’t know…” Schrab said, suddenly coy.

“There’s a certain character that the BBC owns, and they’re asking would it be possible if—” At this point, the point where any Doctor Who fan worthy of watching the show would jump in and ask “DOCTOR WHO?!?” Harmon does just that, getting a response that sounds kind of like But Harmon pushes on: “You only do fancy eyebrow lifting if there’s a Doctor Who character.” “I don’t know what you’re talking about”, Schrab maintained. “That’s a crazy leak that you just leaked. He just told us the first 26 pages of the movie!” joked Harmon and his co-host. “Yeah, do you know how sued I’m gonna get?” We hope he has a good lawyer and everything—but we really hope he’s got something awesome in mind for the Doctor.Science Fiction & Fantasy These Doctor Who-themed LEGO Dimensions and LEGO Ideas sets both feature variants of the standard Dalek. However, in The LEGO Batman Movie, we exclusively see the New Paradigm Daleks: As discussed on this site were not well-received and were intended to be forgotten about:

What happened to the multi-coloured Paradigm Daleks? There was some discussion on licensing and rights in comments on another question, and I've wondered if that has anything to do with this. These LEGO Daleks also never actually referred as anything other than "British robots" on-screen, something else that (along with the color) stood out to me as odd while viewing the film.Is there a legal reason for their appearance? Or was their color scheme just better suited for a LEGO world? Has anyone involved made any comments? Browse other questions tagged doctor-who the-lego-batman-movie or ask your own question. While the set was shown at the London Toy Fair in January 2016 (with photography forbidden), the Sorcerer Supreme was absent entirely at the New York Toy Fair 2016 in February. But it was only a matter of time until the Master of Mysticism made his brick-form presence felt, and the LEGO Doctor Strange 76060 movie set has now been revealed! UPDATE: Images have been removed from the site as per the request of The LEGO Group. When I read the first-hand account description of this fall’s Doctor Strange LEGO set from those who attended the UK Toy Fair back in January 2016, it sounded like all sorts of craziness abounded in the set.

And now that I finally get to see the completed model for myself, well… the insanity factory sure doesn’t disappoint! What we seem to have here is a portion of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum (complete with a cool chest of weapons and artifacts, bookcase and summoning circle decal), along with an extra-dimensional portal ripping open on the far right wall and a tentacle creature tearing through reality. I began speculating that the tentacle monster might be an MCU version of Shuma Gorath (one of my favorite  villains thanks to the Marvel vs. Capcom series) when I first heard about this set in the winter, but now that I actually see the creature, I sure hope it isn’t. Whereas Shuma-Gorath has always looked super-cool to me, this looks more like a dopey, random demon. This looks more like Fred from Big Hero Six to me than a credible monster, honestly. Meanwhile, the set includes three Minifigures: a LEGO Doctor Strange Minifigure, along with LEGO Wong and Baron Mordo Minifigures.

I believe this is the first time Wong has ever been released as an articulated figure ever, which I think is pretty exciting (and I dig Wong’s translucent LEGO fan pieces). The Doctor Strange figure is obviously movie-styled, but it looks like it could double as a comic-based Dr. Strange LEGO Minifigure in a pinch easily enough–which is good, since I doubt we’ll be getting another anytime soon. I like his spell effects pieces, though I would have preferred them in pink (clear is good too, though, I guess). This only photo of this set available right now is just the cover of the first instructional manual, so we still don’t know the official name, piece count or MSRP for this set. Even so, comparing it to comparably sized licensed sets, I would guesstimate a $29.99-$39.99 MSRP for LEGO 76060. I’ll post an update once more specific details regarding the 76060 Doctor Strange LEGO set are known, including the official release date and pricing information, and you can follow the Marvel Toy News Twitter and Facebook Page to get updates via your favorite forms of social media.
