Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi will lend his vocal talents to LEGO Dimensions. LEGO Dimensions is Traveller’s Tales long-awaited toys-to-life competitor, and it leverages LEGO’s many licenses for what sounds like a glorious mish-mash. Warner Bros. seems determined to do it right, too, and has expended goodness knows how much in securing Capaldi’s services for the game, voicing his version of Doctor Who. Entertainment Weekly reports Jenna Coleman (Clara) and Michelle Gomez (Missy) are also on board. EW also has a full sized version of the Doctor Who character model pictured above, if you’re keen to see it in all its glory. Update: Warner Bros. sent over a new trailer and some details of the Doctor Who content in LEGO Dimensions. The basic LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack includes a Doctor Who level featuring Daleks, Cybermen and “other adversaries from the Whoniverse”. If you want more, the Doctor Who Level pack add-on includes a LEGO minifigure of the 12th Doctor, LEGO models of the TARDIS and K-9 (both playable), and an additional mission-based Doctor Who level.

In this pack, the Doctor will regenerate through all his incarnations if he is defeated, with the TARDIS interior changing to match. A jukebox in the TARDIS offers your choice of Doctor Who theme music, and the TARDIS and K-9 models can each be physically built and then rebuilt twice “to do entirely different things”. There’s also the Doctor Who Fun Pack, a smaller add-on with a playable Cyberman minifigure and Dalek model which can also be physically built and then rebuilt twice. LEGO Dimensions is coming in late September for PlayStation 3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. If you’re not sure why you should care, please check out the E3 2015 trailer, which features characters from Portal, The Lord of the Rings, The Simpsons The LEGO Movie and DC Comics. And only the combined powers of the greatest LEGO heroes can stop him. When a mysterious and powerful vortex suddenly appears in various LEGO worlds, different characters from DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings and The LEGO Movie are swept away. As they journey to locations beyond their wildest imaginations in search of their friends, they soon realize that Lord Vortech is summoning villains across different LEGO worlds to help him gain control. As his power grows and the worlds collide, many unexpected characters meet and all boundaries are broken. Our heroes must travel through space and time to rescue their friends before Vortech destroys all of LEGO humanity. DC Comics & Teen Titans Go!: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Lord of the Rings: Stream 9 Seasons on CraveTV Let’s get one thing straight: whether or not you’re a true blue Whovian, the Doctor Who Level Pack is the best expansion LEGO Dimensions has to offer. Compared to last month’s perfectly serviceable Back to the Future Level Pack, it’s a major upgrade both in terms of story length and gameplay depth.

Here are five reasons why you need to get your geeky hands on it. Build Doctor Who LEGO While the Level Pack is a blast to play through, building LEGO is half the fun. Your main man is the Twelve Doctor, as portrayed by Peter Capaldi, who also lends his voice. While we’d love to see Clara Oswald in the mix, each Level Pack only comes with one mini figurine (Team Packs offer multiple little guys). Fortunately, the Doctor’s non-Companion companions—a TARDIS and K-9—are a hoot to build and play with. The story unfolds like a typical episode Following a quick prologue that sees an armada of Daleks descend upon Earth, the Doctor Who Level Pack literally kicks off with a LEGO-fied opening credits sequence, a la TV opener. Not unlike the Back to the Future Level Pack, the Doctor must travel back and forth (and back and forth) through time in order to get through a trio of shields to go up against one of his nastiest nemeses… If you can survive the endless onslaught of bumbling Daleks, you’ll learn the true culprit behind the chaos: Davros—who looks far more appealing in LEGO form.

Also, one of the later skirmishes takes place on Trenzalore, which is littered with both Weeping Angels and The Silence. You don’t see that every day! After completing the game’s main mission, you can hop in the TARDIS and explore six different open-world adventure areas: 19th century London, current-day London, Mars, Skaro, Telos, and Trenzalore. Throughout these playgrounds, the Doctor will come across multiple mini-quests and face many familiar foes, from Autons to Zygons. Even Missy (voiced by Michelle Gomez) makes an appearance, along with a brief Clara (voiced by Jenna Coleman, natch) cameo. Regenerate as any Doctor Another nifty thing you can do after beating the main mission is regenerate into any of the 12 pre-Capaldi Doctors (yup, even the War Doctor). Another clever trick is that whenever the Doctor dies in the open-world, he returns as a different one. So feel free to die a lot! The LEGO Dimensions Doctor Who Level Pack is out now on Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, and Wii U. Be on the lookout for the Doctor Who Cyberman Fun Pack on Janurary 16, 2016, which comes with duh, a LEGO Cyberman and Dalek.

You are a true hero after all! Your voice-over guide through all the levels will be Brian. Let’s have some family-friendly fun and a brick-smashing good time! Building The Toy Pad Portal: Brian and his son Rhyse unbox and build the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack #71171. The Lego Dimensions Starter Pack is a 269 piece set and includes The Lego Toy Pad Dimensions Portal, 3 Minifigures (Batman, Wildstyle and Gandalf), and the Batmobile. The Lego Dimensions Starter Pack sells for $100 / €100 / £85 at most retailers. During the first 15 minutes of Lego Dimensions, we get introduced to the 3 heroes (Batman, Gandalf and Wildstyle) and learn how to use the Toy Pad, not to mention how to build the Lego Batmobile that comes in the Dimensions Starter Pack. Our heroes take an inter-dimensional trip to the world of the Wizard of Oz! 🙂
With Lego Dimensions now started, in the second level we get to visit The Simpsons city of Springfield, where you’ll be playing out an episode of the show in cel-shaded cartoon style and everything.

By finishing this level you’ll obtain the Chroma Keystone, which allows new Toy Pad capabilities. As we continue the story, we have some work to do in the Lego Ninjago world, as we continue chasing the Chroma Keystone that allows new Toy Pad capabilities. The fourth level is where we get to travel with the Tardis, yes indeed it’s the Doctor Who level. The Doctor drops our friends off near to where another Keystone is. Too bad he doesn’t stick around to help us defeat HIS enemies (unless of course you bought his minifigure, but we’re first playing through the game with our 3 Starter Kit heroes). In the fifth level we find ourselves using the Scale Keystone, which allows Minifigure size Toy Pad capabilities, as well as playing in a few key areas of Metropolis city with some Lord of the Rings twists thanks to a visit by Sauron. – Cyberman has a special combo-ability for Dive & Hacking no single other character has. – Characters that can fly like Wonder Woman and Wicked Witch can skip difficult sections/puzzles by flying past/over them, the flying ability (be it from a character or a vehicle) also makes it easy to collect Red Bricks that are normally out of reach.

– You need heat-based attacks like Superman’s heat/laser vision to destroy Gold LEGO objects. – Super strength characters can destroy or manipulate LEGO objects that normal characters can’t. – Homer’s burp can shatter Blue LEGO Glass.
