P Cap hangs out with Bats and Gandalf in Lego Dimensions (Picture: Lego) Last month Lego unleashed their awesome new game, Lego Dimensions, featuring such worldwide brands as The Simpsons, Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future and, our personal favourite, Doctor Who. The game lets you enter the worlds of Springfield, Middle Earth and even travel down the Yellow Brick Road, as well as flying around in the TARDIS. This week sees the release of the Doctor Who level pack, which includes a cute mini LEGO TARDIS, with K9 and Peter Capaldi mini-figs. Who fans will be delighted to know that the Time Lord himself, Peter Capaldi, has lent his amazing voice for the project. But even more gobsmacking is the level’s very own title sequence – prepare for awesomeness! Doctor Who fans can also delight in the fact that December sees the release of the very first official LEGO set for the BBC’s hit sci-fi show. Featuring the TARDIS, it also comes with two Doctors, Peter Capaldi and Matt Smith (complete with mini sonic screwdrivers!), companion Clara (Jenna Coleman), two Daleks and a Weeping Angel. And not to mention a Fez! The LEGO Doctor Who set will be in stores on December 1. Doctor Who airs this Saturday at 8pm on BBC One. MORE: Doctor Who’s Steven Moffat says Clara will ‘never return’ and Capaldi is ‘going nowhere’It wasn’t without debate, but Doctor Who will finally make its LEGO debut later this year. First pitched by Andrew Clark, a self-proclaimed Doctor Who enthusiast and member of online LEGO community LEGO Ideas, the set will include the TARDIS console, minifigures of the Eleventh Doctor, the Twelfth Doctor, Clara Oswald and a Weeping Angel, as well as two Daleks cyborgs.

Rumor has it the set will launch on December 1 at LEGO retailers and chapter stores for approximately $92 USD. For more gift ideas, check out the LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens sets. Take this one Lego fan’s submission to the Lego Ideas website for a Doctor Who set. Lego has confirmed a deal with the BBC to create the official Doctor Who set. Submitted by fan Andrew Clark, the final version is yet to be revealed, but Clark shared his vision on Lego’s site: “The iconic Tardis sits where it all began, Totters Lane. The scene is a typical London street, with brick wall/fencing and lamp post with Totters Lane sign. The Doctor and his companion stand outside with K9 ready for adventures. The Tardis opens up to become the inner Tardis walls and can be placed next to the console where the Doctor controls their journey through time.”

According to the site, anyone can submit their idea, and if it’s followed by at least 10,000 backers, Lego considers making it a real set. A previous licensing agreement the BBC had with another maker prohibited Lego from making a Doctor Who set, but that has since expired, so it’s game on. The Doctor Who set will be released later this year and no price is set yet, according to CNET. See Clark’s video on his idea here: Find more jobs on GeekWork. Employers, post a job here. Sr. Software Development Engineer – BackendOfferUpReady for your next role?Perfect LoopSecurity Software EngineerOfferUp7 October 2015, 9:50 am EDT By Robin Parrish Tech Times Way back in February of 2014, Doctor Who and LEGO fan Andrew Clark did fans a solid by submitting a great concept to LEGO Ideas for a play set starring our favorite Time Lord. That idea got enough votes to be submitted to LEGO for consideration (not to mention corporate partnership arrangements with BBC), and at long last, the brick-building toy company has unveiled its final version of Clark's design.

Officially designated set 21304, it will retail for $59.99 and comes with the Tardis, four minifigures and two Daleks. Peter Capaldi's 12th and current Doctor is in there, along with his immediate predecessor, Matt Smith/11. Faithful companion Clara Oswald — who will soon be the longest-running companion of the modern series before actress Jenna Coleman exits the show later this season — is the third minifigure, and a creepy, double-faced Weeping Angel statue is the fourth. The figures are great, but fans are really going to go nuts over the Tardis. It features a brilliant design conceit that was there from the start, in Andrew Clark's original idea. You get to build an authentic Tardis replica that's at correct minifigure scale, but when it's time to go inside the bigger-on-the-inside time machine, the exterior unfolds and then connects to a second build of the control room. How cool is that? This is what it looks like. And here's LEGO Ideas' official description:

Construct a stunningly detailed LEGO version of the iconic TARDIS and role-play the Doctor's time-travel adventures! Created by fan-designer Andrew Clark and selected by LEGO Ideas members, this set is based on the BBC's popular and long-running television series about a Time Lord — the Doctor — exploring the universe in a blue police box. Due to trans-dimensional engineering, the TARDIS is bigger on the inside than the outside and this cool multifunctional set includes the console room that houses all the flight controls. Regenerate the Doctor and defeat the evil Daleks and a Weeping Angel with the help of his extraordinary companion Clara. Then close the doors of the TARDIS and launch into another dimension! Includes 4 minifigures with assorted accessory elements: the Eleventh Doctor, the Twelfth Doctor, Clara Oswald and a Weeping Angel, plus 2 Daleks. The LEGO Doctor Who set will go on sale Dec. 1.
