You are looking for a gift for your child that combines their love of LEGOs and superheroes. A LEGO Iron Man toy satisfies both of your child's loves. LEGO toys are a classic choice that suit a wide span of ages. You can purchase a set that includes the build-able Iron Man, or you may buy only Iron Man if you want to add another LEGO mini-figure to your child's collection. LEGO Iron Man sets include popular structures, allies, vehicles, and villains connected to the Iron Man franchise. The vast inventory on eBay lets you find a set suited to your child's interests and building abilities. A smaller set is ideal for the beginning builder, while more elaborate options keep even experienced builders entertained. With a custom Lego Iron Man, you are able to pick the Iron Man suit that your child prefers. Some of the available suit colors are black, silver, and red. When searching for a present for your child, you do not have to pick between two things. A LEGO Iron Man toy enables you to encourage your child's enthusiasm for multiple interests.

However there are other “companies” there that also sell what appears to be LEGO but in reality, they’re just cheap knock-offs from China. Stephen went around to a few booths showing what products they’re selling and found there were about “20-30” booths selling all kinds of counterfeit LEGO from bricks to minifigures. As LEGO fans, we know which minifigures are legit and which are not but parents and kids who aren’t enthusiasts can’t really tell the difference because they look so similar and are priced way cheaper.

As one person at these booths states about selling fake LEGO, That statements bugs me because they’re all about the money. Notice they don’t even use the correct terminology when describing where the minifigures are standing on as they only call it “the thing.” Not a stand or on studs but “the thing.” Note that this was at New York Comic Con, one of the largest fan conventions in the US. This is my first time hearing about booths selling fake LEGO products at these conventions as I don’t see them at San Diego Comic Con but then again, they are different organizers so they probably don’t care what is sold there. As LEGO keeps growing bigger and bigger, the more likely companies in China will continue to churn out these counterfeits. It wasn’t that too long ago that Huw over on Brickset did a review on some. There’s really no way to stop them as trademark and copyright laws don’t work over there. At least there will be a new factory being built in China to try to combat this.

Also keep in mind the difference between legit custom minifigures and knockoffs. Real custom minifigures use real LEGO products with modifications to them whether in printing, accessories, etc. Knockoffs use cheap plastic and paint and the quality is subpar and could be potentially dangerous for younger children to play with. Even at Toys R Us, you can’t really be too careful as they’re also selling some fake LEGO Racers stuff on the endcaps. If you’re going to these conventions or just shopping in general and find what appears to be LEGO, just use some due diligence and make sure that you’re getting the real thing. The parts are of knockoff/bootleg version of the Lego parts. It comes with a Batman mini-figure & a Joker based on the one from the 'Arkham Asylum Breakout 10937' set.

The batmobile is based on the Tumbler from the 'Joker's Ice Cream Surprise Lego 7888' released back in 2008. This set is long out of production and is now very expensive to get, many people just simply cannot afford it, therefore, this Knockoff kit is suitable for those who once missed out or wanna to collect one. I am very lucky that I still own a mint condition 7888 that I bought when it was first released. Of course, many Lego fans will wonder how 'crap' this knockoff kit really is. Well.... to much of a surprise, this kit is better than expected. The parts fit together well and tight. Some of the parts are not as shiny as the Lego, and the two yellow missles are a bit tight to shoot out, but these are the only minor issues. Funny that after the construction of the vehicle is finished, in a sense it is hard to distinguish that it is not a real Lego product. Anyway, if Lego is rated 10/10, this set should be around 8/10. Not able to confirm from any sources if this set is a licensed product.

The cheapest price is in HKD $100, that means it is only USD $13.... Definitely a bargin for a reasonable quality Batmobile kit, guess that Batman or building toy fans won't regret getting one even though it is a knockoff.  NOTE: It is understandably that knock off, clone or counterfeit products are not recommended due to lawful reasons. On the other hand, considering that many poor kids, such as those living in the third world countries, simply cannot afford the expensive Legos, these products many be huge enjoyment for them even though they are not the original one.  If thinking 'outside the box', LEGO may be the eventual beneficiary out of all, because many poor kids will become rich adults in the future and willing to buy LEGOs for themselves or their next generations, because they once played with the these kind of toys, and have the intention of 'get it back' because once 'I want it so much, but never did.... today I got the money & I want my kids to have the good quality legitimate one'.

These knock off products may help LEGO to promote & expand their business in long term to the future. Also in a way, it promotes the super heroes characters that the poor kids or kids from poor countries might never heard of, and looking even further ahead, it is great for the US as they helps to promote their brands (including comics, movies etc). It is the influence the United States has on the culture of other countries, so called Americanization. A hidden benefit for national interest.  However, the variety and quality of these knock offs are in fact getting better very rapidly. Moreover, these companies have been started making new figures & sets that are not available from LEGO. That means they start to become creative, some of the designs are getting a lot of attentions from the LEGO collectors. The price is cheap, the quality is good, packing is great...and many are not copies anymore. LEGO should be aware of these new comers, put aside the ego, stop rising the price and don't under estimate the new comers.
