Build a Lego Death Star Ornament With Powerpig11/30/10 7:40am Our friend Powerpig hadn't meant to do any more Lego Christmas tree ornaments, but apparently he couldn't resist this slightly-evil bauble: A DEATH STAR tree garnish. His website shows you how to make your very own. Star Wars™ Death Star Tree Topper With Lights That's no moon—it's the ultimate tree topper for any Star Wars™ fan. Expertly crafted to resemble the Empire's armored space station, this Death Star's design won't pull you in with a tractor beam, but it will capture your attention with its awesome light and sound features! Included remote control features the iconic Imperial insignia crest. Learn more about Keepsake Ornaments. Magic Light and Sound. Press button on remote control (included) to see Death Star™ illuminate and hear the Star Wars: Main Title and The Imperial March. Connect to Hallmark's universal adapter (included) and/or Hallmark's Magic Cord (sold separately) to see the continuous light effect.

Pre-packaged for easy gift giving, preservation and storage. 6.3" W x 6.3" H x 6.3" D Remember the neighbor kid who would dismantle perfectly good toys and mash the parts together to create strange creatures? Orville Wilson was that kid, and he still is. And after winning an art contest in elementary school, his mother said, "One day you'll be working for Hallmark." She was thrilled when her prophecy came true and, like any good mother, said "I told you so!" Learn more about Orville Wilson. This MOC is build in 2/3 of mini fig scale and is about 6 meters long. Originally build for the Star Wars day @ Legoland Germany 2011. ( Build by Dutch Moonbase member Marco Baas )If your love of Star Wars transcends all holiday traditions, then from this day forth Christmas just won’t feel like Christmas unless the star atop your festive tree is actually the Death Star, ominously glowing and flashing like it’s ready to shoot down some mistletoe.

Its $100 price tag will test the limits of some Star Wars fans’ devotion to the franchise, but there are lots of good reasons to upgrade your holidays, and festive decor, with this alternative tree topper. Using an included wireless remote the Death Star can be set to glow either red or blue, presumably so you can let Santa know what side of the political debate you support. But the remote also lets you trigger classic holiday songs like John Williams’ Star Wars Main Theme, or the ominous Imperial March which is still more enjoyable to sing along with than White Christmas.Starwars OrnamentsOrnaments TieOrnaments SuperOrnaments HolidaysChristmas OrnamentOrnaments InstructionOrnaments DirectionsIncludes StarCraft IncludesForwardI'm so smitten with these Star Wars lego ornaments! So nice to give away the patterns for free as well!DIY Death Star Holiday Tree Ornament Aww, isn’t that cute? Lego superstar Chris McVeigh (aka powerpig) has created an ornament with which your lego obsession can command the tree galaxy.

Unless of course, somewhere on your tree is an x-wing with Luke Skywalker in it. Watch out for that. You can follow all the steps as provided by powerpig through his own site, or check out the list of parts needed to make this battle station and try to figure it out yourself! If you wish, please feel free to create this masterpiece in honor of our recently departed friend Irvin Kershner, director of the only original Star Wars movie without a Death Star, The Empire Strikes Back. Check out the list of legos you’ll need here, then check out the full instructions over at Chris’ blog Mint in Box. Furthermore, you can purchase other ornaments created by Chris over at Creations for Charity if you do so wish. Build It Yourself: Death Star Ornament A little surprise for you all. I hadn’t intended to do anymore Build It Yourself projects this year, but once this idea popped into my head, I couldn’t let go of it!  With the Death Star ornament by Chris McVeigh (powerpig), you will rule the Christmas tree!

Find out how to make your own on Chris’ blog. Other ornaments by Chris are still available for purchase from Creations for Charity. Have a ball making a ball! Though this doesn't do it quite the same way as the Lego Circle, I'm going to again show you how to use rectangular bricks to make round shapes. This ball is pretty easy to make and the hardest part will probably just be getting all the pieces together. I'm hoping the pictures are clear enough that you can build the ball solely from them but I have included text on each step just incase you get stuck. If you can understand the step just by the picture then you're pretty awesome and should just ignore whatever I wrote. A short video showing the roundness of the ball. More exciting video coming soon.
