The savvy investor these days is looking at Lego. Incredible figures show that the value of certain mint condition sets has increased by more than 12 per cent each year since the millennium. For example, if you bought the Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon for £342.49 in 2007, you could sell it on for £2,712 today. It is now worth almost EIGHT times as much – but only if it has been kept in pristine condition in the box. The largest increase in price for any set has been for ‘Cafe Corner’, a model hotel first for sale in 2007. It was in shops for £89.00, but it now worth £2,096 – a massive return for investors of 2,230 per cent. By contrast, people investing in gold only managed a 9.6 per cent annual gain.

This weekend at LEGO Stores and [email protected], they’ll be selling the sets for a limited time for VIP members. The only catch is there’s no word on what the pricing for the two sets will be.
Hopefully, they’ll be the same as before but considering inflation since they sets were first released, I bet they’ll be slightly higher than before. It was also stated that LEGO is planning to release more Modular sets in the future. There’s no mentioning of which sets will be coming but for now, at least we don’t have to resort to BrickLinking parts to recreate them.
