Twitter: @jamesiraIra does end-to-end design, development, and implementation of tangible-interactive, augmented reality decision support systems for Changing Places Group and the City Science Initiative at MIT Media Lab. Ira works with industry, academia, and public agencies to build executive-level tools for solving complex spatial problems. Ira invented key technology behind MIT CityScope, including the tangible interactive matrix. CityScope is an integrated hardware and software platform that merges parametric, voxelized simulations with user-friendly tangible interfaces. The work has since become a large, interdisciplinary research project within the Changing Places Group.Ira's range of expertise includes Computer Science, Mathematical Modeling, City Planning, and Architectural Design. He is a Master of City Planning (MIT, 2013) and Bachelor of Science and Design (MIT, 2010). Ira has spoken and exhibited at venues including Autodesk University, TEDx Boston, US Chamber of Commerce, APA Planning Conference, Edinburgh Culture Summit, Guiyang Big Data Expo, and The G7 Conference for ICT.

A house sitter, whose name has not been released, was at the home at the time, KOCO reported. The house sitter told KFOR that the dog, a 6-month-old mixed-breed named Luke, showed up at the door with the body of a three to five-pound infant in his mouth.

The body of the infant was wrapped in plastic. "He was carrying it just like a momma pup," she told the station, "and laid it at my feet." The house sitter stressed that the body had no markings or signs of trauma, and that Luke would never have hurt anyone. She believes the dog was trying to help the infant. “I believe [Luke] found it, picked it up and brought it. There was no trauma you could tell he inflicted," she said. Authorities have determined that the newborn was a girl. "We don’t know where the baby came from," Police Captain Dexter Nelson told KFOR. "If it was born in the area outside or if someone brought the baby out there to dispose of it.” Medical experts are currently trying to determine if the baby was born alive or stillborn. According to KOCO, Luke typically roamed over a large area, which officials are currently canvassing for clues about the infant. All 50 states have some form of "safe haven" legislation that allows parents -- or someone with a parent's permission -- to anonymously leave a newborn at designated safe locations without fear of prosecution for neglect or abandonment.
