We’ve already seen images of the upcoming LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Avengers: Age of Ultron sets but the chums over at Brick Fanatics have found some details of the sets from the Argos website. Apparently, Argos don’t know that the Avengers sets are on the Marvel Super Heroes side because they labeled them as DC Comics but that’s beside the point. Additionally, there are only descriptions for five of the six sets in the wave. Beware, there might be some slight spoilers so you’ve been warned. Iron Man vs. Ultron (76029) Team up with Iron Man MK45 to take on the Ultron army in an ultimate battle! Defend against aerial attacks from the Ultron vehicle piloted by the Sub-Ultron officer. Take cover as Sub-Ultron troopers leap from the back of the vehicle and fire their stud shooters. Then activate Iron Mans Super Jumper to topple the Sub-Ultron officer and bring the vehicle crashing to the ground! Includes 4 minifigures with assorted weapons and accessories: Sub-Ultron officer, 2 Sub-Ultron troopers and Iron Man MK45.
Duel with Hydra/Hydra Showdown (76030) Join Thor and Hawkeye as they chase the Hydra henchman through the Sokovia winter forest! Place Hawkeye in the cockpit of the awesome Avengers 4×4 vehicle and accelerate away. When you have the Hydra offroader in your sights, fire the flick missiles from the rotating turret and swerve away from the offroaders powerful stud shooter. Then launch Thor on his Super Jumper and disable the stud shooter with one perfectly aimed jump! Includes 3 minifigures with assorted weapons and accessories: Thor, Hawkeye and Hydra henchman. Hulkbuster Rescue Mission/The Hulk Buster Smash (76031) Hulk has been trapped by the powers of Scarlet Witch and she is ready to fire an electrical bolt if he tries to escape! Place Iron Man in the cockpit of the humungous Hulk Buster suit and rush to the rescue. On the way you must fend off aerial attacks from the flying Ultron. Adjust the Hulk Busters arms and legs to create fearsome battle poses and grab the villain with the powerful hands.
With Ultron safely in the mechs grip, attach Iron Man to his Super Jumper. Then take out Scarlet Witch with an accurate jump and free the imprisoned Hulk! The Avengers Quinjet City Chase (76032) Launch a high-speed pursuit of Ultron with the Avengers in the iconic Quinjet. Place Black Widow at the controls in the cockpit and soar into the sky. Fire the stud shooters and release Captain America on his super-cool bike to take the pursuit to the streets. Iron Man MK43 is flying alongside the Quinjet using his thrusters, ready to take on Ultron. When the time is right, make the perfect jump onto the truck to explode the sides and reveal the precious cargo. Includes 5 minifigures with assorted accessories: Vision, Captain America, Black Widow, Iron Man and Ultron. Attack on Avengers Tower (76038) The Heroes are having a party when suddenly Avengers Tower comes under Ultron attack from the inside!
Evil Ultron Mark 1 has assembled himself in the lab and is exploding out the windows. Help Iron Man and Thor to defeat Ultron and the 2 Iron Legion accomplices under his control. Make plans in the JARVIS control room and treat injured Super Heroes in the sick bay. An Iron Legion is blasting out the doors and windows of the ground-floor robot bay. The other has stolen the Loki Scepter from the analysis lab so pursue him with Thor and take aim from the roof of the tower with the secret hidden drone and stud shooters. After the debacle that was #WhereIsBlackWidow (and more recently #WhereIsRey with Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Marvel is putting their money where their mouth is and releasing a number of Black Widow toys in the days leading up the premiere of Captain America: Civil War. You can see all the options in the gallery below, but here’s a little preview: When Avengers: Age of Ultron released their toy sets, there was outcry left and right as soon as fans noticed that Captain America had replaced Black Widow on the motorcycle for the LEGO set. Fast forward a year, and Natasha Romanoff will be front and center with her motorcycle in Marvel’s LEGO Super Heroes Crossbones’ Hazard Heist set.
Also included in the set is the Crossbones truck and Falcon in his Redwing suit. Given what we’ve seen LEGO do in the past with sets directly recreating scenes from the films, it will be interesting to see whether Black Widow and Falcon are teaming up or fighting each other around Crossbones and his vehicle once the film hits the big screen. In addition to the LEGO set, the Captain America: Civil War Figure Play Set and Marvel Super Hero Mashers Mash-Up Pack Assortment will also feature the Russian assassin, and the Disney Store will have a Marvel Select 6 3/4″ action figure for collectors and kids. Like the LEGO set, Black Widow is again paired with a player from the other team for her action figure, with a small Ant-Man in the background. It makes me wonder just how one-sided we will see Natasha be once the movie comes out. In a move that perhaps draws Black Widow most into the gender-neutral territory when it comes to toys, Mattel will also be releasing a special Black Widow Character Car, though the details on that one are less known than some of the other coming releases.
And in a final toy move, Hasbro will be releasing an Iron Man/Black Widow action figure set. This is the only two-character set that pairs Black Widow with her team mate rather than an adversary. Marvel is also working with Hasbro on a special Super Hero Adventures Marvel Figure 2-Pack featuring Black Widow that will be aimed at younger fans. In addition to the toys that we are excited to see hit shelves, fangirl clothing company Her Universe is teaming with Kohl’s to produce an exclusive Black Widow active wear collection. Sure, you can visit Her Universe any day and grab some really excellent Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff apparel, but this collection will let you feel truly like you are training to be just as bad ass of a super spy as your favorite character. As a long time fan of the Marvel Universe, it’s really exciting to see that they are truly listening to what fans want and letting some characters get more into the merchandise game than ever before. I fully anticipate some of these things becoming collector’s items and downright impossible to find once kids (and adults) are finally able to get their hands on them.
