Batmobile Tumbler Minifig Scale Official LEGO Comments 4 One of the most recreated vehicles in LEGO, The Batmobile Tumbler from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Design by Batman Begins Production Designer Nathan Crowley and Christopher Nolan. This creation was originally created by myself in early 2008 using LEGO's Digital Designer software and later in MLCAD. While many have taken a shot at creating this before and after, I feel mine is the most accurate available while still being able to fit an official Batman minifigure inside. While not perfect, I do believe with enough votes and LEGO's help I can create an even better version for mass production.Custom instructions created in MLCAD are already available online:Online Instructionsor RebrickableFor more videos, images and details on the build check out the following linksOn Flickr:Black VersionCamo VersionOn MOCPages:Black VersionCamo VersionSuggested additional items:Black version:Vehicles: Joker's Circus Truck, SWAT VanMinifigures: Batman, Joker, 2x Henchmen, SWAT Gordon and SWAT officer.

With LEGO's help I'm sure the same effect can be achieved by either smart use coloured pieces and/or printed pieces. This creation fits an official Batman minifigure perfectly inside while still being able to close the roof piece.
As the bad-ass Tumbler retires, it seems we aren’t the only ones keen on the thing—the geniuses over at Lego have created a Tumbler kit you can actually buy. Beginning September 1, you’ll be able to pick up the 1869-piece Lego Tumbler kit for a cool $199. It comes with exclusive Batman and Health Ledger Joker minifigs, a stats plaque for the real-life/full-size Tumbler, and Lego’s typical attention to detail. There are adjustable winglets above each rear wheel, a fully spec’d interior, and the correct dualie rear axle. The only misstep: The Tumbler’s jet exhaust does not actually spit fire, although we’re sure some enterprising customizer can fix that for you. The vehicle’s size also impresses, since it measures a hefty 15 inches long, 9 inches wide, and stands just over 5 inches tall. While our dreams of acquiring a real-life Tumbler—several of them were built for filming—might never come to fruition, this kit is a far more affordable and megasweet backup plan.
It joins other recent lust-inducing Lego kits like the classic Mini Cooper, Volkswagen T1 camper van, and gigantic Mercedes Unimog on our perpetual gift wish list. Select a Model (optional)This is the $200 Collector's Edition LEGO Tumbler due out in September. The vehicle measures 15-inches by 9-inches and contains 1,869-pieces. I think I might build it. Then add fireworks to the back and accidentally set it ablaze trying to make it speed down my parent's driveway. Raise your hand if you know what burning LEGO bricks smell like. Now everybody else look around the room and notice the people with their hands raised. Those are my people. Keep going for a bunch more shots. Thanks to mikey, who made me promise to buy him one if I posted it but we did not shake hands so I consider myself off the hook.
