Fun, inclusive and accessible to kids and adults in equal measure. They are what family games should be. Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham should continue that tradition, but has unfortunately been infected with something dire - like the yellow impurity in the old Green Lantern rings. Lego Batman 3 will launch with day one DLC and a season pass. This is a first for the Lego games. They’ve had DLC before, but they were easy to overlook, ancillary things. But the six bits of DLC - three of which will arrive at launch - include over 40 characters, and each will have a story mission which can later be played in free-roam. It’s quite a substantial slice of the game being held back. If there’s a silver lining to this rather ugly state of affairs, its that the DLC and season pass are very reasonably priced.
Seperately, the packs will cost £2.55/$2.99, while the season pass will only set you back £12.79/$14.99. The first three packs are The Dark Knight Pack, recreating the chase sequence from Nolan’s second Batman film; The Man of Steel Pack, where you’ll need to help send baby Kal-El into space; and Batman 75th Pack, which lets you play as Joker and Harley as they get up to mischief, and you’ll be able to find a bunch of Batman costumes from various eras.
