Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that TT Games will again be at San Diego Comic this year. There Arthur Parsons will be doing a panel for LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. During the presentation, there will be an exclusive gameplay demonstration, character reveals, and other special announcements. Also attending the panel will be several members of the voice cast of the game. Throughout SDCC 2014, LEGO Batman 3 will be available for a hands-on demo by attendees. I will be at SDCC all four days to report as much LEGO information as possible including the exclusive reveal(s) that will be happening on July 24-25. One of these reveals will most likely be the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes UCS Tumbler (76023). Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, in celebration of the upcoming release of Rocksteady Studios’ “Batman: Arkham Knight,” will host the Cape/Cowl/Create art exhibit, open to the public daily from July 25th through the 27th, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hard Rock San Diego Hotel’s Legends Room.

This free public exhibition will feature true-to-scale replicas of the game’s cape and cowl used as a blank canvas by top contemporary artists to produce their own original interpretations. On Friday, July 25th, at 12:30 p.m., WBIE and Monolith Productions will host a panel for the anticipated game “Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor,” discussing how the game’s innovation evolves storytelling while exploring the history of the Rings of Power. Panelists will include Monolith’s Michael de Plater and Phil Straub, as well as the game’s lead writer, Christian Cantamessa, and voice actor Troy Baker, moderated by Professor Janet Croft. And Sunday, July 27th, at 1:00 p.m., WBIE will also host a panel for “LEGO™ Batman 3: Beyond Gotham,” developed by TT Games, with an exclusive gameplay demonstration, character reveals, special announcements and a lively panel discussion with several members of the voice cast featured in the game. Also, throughout the Con, the game will be available for the first time for hands-on play by consumers.

On the last day of San Diego Comic Con 2014, the LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham panel was hosted by IGN’s Greg Miller and there were some surprises. TT Games’ Phil Ring and Arthur Parsons was on hand as well as some of the voice actors of the video game including Troy Baker, Travis Willingham, Laura Bailey, Scott Porter, Dee Bradley Baker, and Josh Keaton. One surprise that wasn’t really a surprise was that Adam West was also on the panel. During the panel, they did a recap of the new playable characters such as Bat-Cow, Booster Gold & Skeets, Hawkman, Adam West, Arkillo, Krypto, Miss Martian, Batman of Zur-En-Arrh, Blue Beetle, and Mr. Mxyzptlk. These characters were announced at the LEGO booth during SDCC by Arthur Parsons. Something new that was shown was Superboy’s outfit which is the New 52 version. The other thing that was new was the 1960’s versions of the Batman charcters like Robin, Catwoman, Batgirl, Joker, Riddler, Penguin, Alfred, and the Batmobile. Some surprises were the LEGO Batman 3 t-shirts and posters that were given away to everyone in attendance.

You were given a ticket to bring to the Fulfillment Room at the Hyatt to pick up your items. The only problem was that it was kinda hot walking outside from the convention center to the hotel. The other surprise was for 3 people who asked questions at the panel. Greg Miller had 3 of the LEGO SDCC 2014 Batmobile exclusive sets for people who had the best questions. Not only did those people get the sets, it was also signed by Adam West. Overall in my opinion, the panel was pretty cool, but it wasn’t as cool as last year’s panel for the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game because there weren’t as many surprises. In this panel, we already knew that Adam West was coming but we didn’t know Stan Lee was going to be showing up last year. Also the new character reveals was already done at the LEGO booth so I’ve already seen them before coming to the panel. Guillermo del Toro, a preview of “Lego Batman 3,” and Kevin Bacon and costars from “The Following” are highlights from the schedule for Comic-Con’s closing day, Sunday, July 27. Starting at the not-unreasonable time of 11:15 a.m. in Hall H, Bacon is to make his return to the San Diego pop-culture exposition to tout the third season of Fox’s “The Following,” which is scheduled to air in early 2015. He’ll be joined by cast mates Shawn Ashmore (“X-Men: The Last Stand”), Sam Underwood (“Dexter”), and Jessica Stroup (“90210”), with creator/executive producer Kevin Williamson (“Scream”) and executive producer Marcos Siega (“The Vampire Diaries”), for an on-stage Q&A and video presentation. In anticipation of the fall release of  the latest in the massively popular “Lego Batman” video game series, the “Lego Batman 3” panel will feature an exclusive game-play demonstration and boasts character reveals, exciting prizes and giveaways, and the all-too titillating promise of  “a true blockbuster announcement.”

Plus, in addition to members of the voice cast and TT Games game director Arthur Parsons and executive producer Phil Ring, none other than the Caped Crusader himself, Adam West, the star of the ’60s “Batman” television series, will be making an appearance. The panel runs from 1 to 2 p.m. in Room 6BCE. Sunday will also feature a sneak-peek screening of Episode 3 of FX’s new horror drama “The Strain,” which will run from 1:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in Hall H. Series creator and Oscar-nominated director Guillermo del Toro will be on hand, alongside co-creator Chuck Hogan, show runner Carlton Cuse (“Lost”) and cast members Corey Stoll, David Bradley, Mia Maestro, Sean Astin, Kevin Durand, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Miguel Gomez, Ben Hyland and Jack Kesy. The apocalyptically creepy series recently came under fire for its billboards in the Los Angeles area which depict a worm crawling out of an eyeball. Del Toro addressed the controversy at the series premiere last week.

Comic book fans will be covered on Sunday with panels offering intimate conversations with some of the top artists in the business today, including Jim Lee (“Superman Unchained,” “Batman: Hush,” “X-Men”), who designed the cover of the Comic-Con International 2014 Souvenir Book, in Room 6DE from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.,  Greg Capullo (“Batman,” “X-Force,” “Spawn”) in Room 7AB from 1 to 2 p.m., and many more. Plus, you can catch the cast of FX’s popular “Sons of Anarchy,” including Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal, Kim Coates, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Theo Rossi, Dayton Callie, Jimmy Smits, David Labrava, Niko Nicotera and Drea de Matteo as well as series creator Kurt Sutter (“The Shield“).
