It looks like there’s another The LEGO Batman Movie polybag to search for in the near future. Delta Customs over on Instagram has posted what appears to be an Asian exclusive polybag featuring Batman in his yellow striped tuxedo in some sort of vault case with some accessories. No word on how to get it but it looks pretty neat. Update: It looks like the polybag will be called the Batman Battle Pod (5004929). It is listed on the LEGO Hong Kong Facebook Page that it will be a GWP with a purchase threshold.A few days ago, I reported on a new The LEGO Batman Movie Accessory Pack polybag. A reader has given some information on how to get this particular polybag. If you checked out the January 2017 LEGO Store Calendar, there is an in-store event that starts from January 2-February 26. From what I’ve been told, they’ll be little stickers of Batman hidden throughout the store and if you find them all, you can get one of these polybags. As you can see from the image above, the Accessory Pack consists of Batman and the Batsignal along with a sticker sheet and a double-sided poster with the heroes on one side and the villains on the other.
It looks like there will be plenty of The LEGO Batman Movie Accessory Packs available since the event goes on for two month however those not close to a LEGO Store will probably have to get it from another source. Thanks to Purple Dave for the heads up. Update: I’ve had people say that this promotion won’t start until later in the month while I’ve heard others say they’ve gotten it. I guess it depends if the individual stores have everything set up or not. Brickset has posted a rather grainy image of the Batgirl minifigure polybag (30612) and now we might have an idea on how to get it. If you noticed, Rosario Dawson’s crime-fighting femme fatale in minifig form is available in three TLBM different sets: Catwoman Catcyle Chase (70902), The Joker Notorious Lowrider (70906), and The Ultimate Batmobile (70917). LEGO’s latest polybag offering under the theme is virtually identical with all these minifigure version of the Batgirl. So what makes the polybag exceptional in its own right? As pointed out by Minifigure Price Guide, the LEGO Batman Movie Batgirl polybag features a headpiece with a different facial expression. Though it’s hard to notice it based on the polybag image above, the set itself is already listed under LEGO’s replacement service.
I know for most of you, this promotional may be a bit underwhelming if you have already fancied yourself of buying any of the sets that were mentioned above, but if you have a bad case of TLBM fever specially after seeing the film, then you will be glad to know that this Batgirl polybag may come as a freebie bundled with the Blu-Ray/DVD/HD home version of The LEGO Batman Movie, which will be exclusively offered at Target stores as reported by The Brick Fan. The site posted an image to support that gives a hint on the promotional. We don’t know yet when the film will be out in DVD and Blu-ray (perhaps sometime in June?), but a listing on Target’s website already offers The LEGO Batman Movie for pre-order, while Best Buy offers it at $19.99 for the DVD and $24.99 for Blu-ray and Digital HD. Since most of us will probably add TLBM in our video collection, it is surely nice if LEGO will reconsider throwing in the Batgirl minifigure polybag along with other retailers.While January was the big month for the release of the first wave of 2017 sets, February is also going to be very significant.
First of all, The LEGO Batman Movie is going to be in theatres on February 10th, so a lot of the promotions and special events will be related to the movie. February is also the time for the various toy fairs, which is significant for LEGO fans, as this is when many of the new sets and themes for the year get revealed. And then there is also Valentine’s Day. he London Toy Fair came and went this year with no LEGO related news, as they don’t allow taking pictures, and this year they didn’t even invite the press. The German Toy Fair is taking place right now (February 1-6), so lots of news should be coming out this week, and they also allow pictures. The New York Toy Fair is going to be towards the middle of the month (February 18-21), where the same new LEGO sets are shown as at the German Toy Fair, and sometimes a few extra sets also get revealed. It’s worth paying attention to these events, as you get an idea what to budget for throughout the year. There are no new large set released this month, but this is a good thing, as it allows us to catch up on the January releases. The #10255 LEGO Creator Assembly Square is a beauty, and it is the largest set released so far this year. And of course there are all The LEGO Batman Movie, LEGO City, LEGO Creator, LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Nexo Knights, LEGO Friends, LEGO Super Hero Girls, LEGO Disney Moana, LEGO Architecture, and LEGO Juniors sets.
