Se convirti� en una fuerte apuesta en el campo de los juegos para el dispositivo de Apple, con sus gr�ficos tridimensionales, acci�n intensa, y dem�s bondades. Ahora llega a DSiWare con una versi�n que, ya os lo adelantamos, no retiene las mejores caracter�sticas de la versi�n para el dispositivo de Apple, ni las de la versi�n para PSP a trav�s de los Minis.El t�tulo nos pone en el papel de Argos, que despierta en una playa, sin su ej�rcito, y nos obligar� a superar cinco niveles diferentes de acci�n, con unos gr�ficos tridimensionales, pero una jugabilidad que en su mayor parte es bidimensional. Los gr�ficos lucen bastante bien, en realidad, salvando las distancias con las otras versiones del juego, destacando sobre todo el colorido y los dise�os de los personajes, que han conseguido salvar sus rasgos distintivos pese a la menor resoluci�n de las pantallas de esta port�til.
La historia, sencilla pero suficiente, se narra entre fases y en algunos momentos concretos durante el desarrollo de la partida. Sus pretensiones son �picas, pero eso es discutible. En todo caso, la ambientaci�n grecorromana, y el uso recurrente de elementos mitol�gicos ayudan a esa situaci�n. Como curiosidad, es posible sacarnos una foto de la cara e introducirla en las ilustraciones de Argos que conseguimos seg�n superamos las fases.El juego, eso s�, es algo simpl�n. Por lo normal, hay que avanzar y punto: estamos ante un juego de "yo contra el barrio" con espadas muy sencillo en su concepci�n, en el que la profundidad del escenario no aporta un factor estrat�gico o jugable especialmente rese�able, pues esa profundidad no se aprovecha apenas en la partida. Esto se debe a que el juego es muy "pasillero", y aunque nos encontramos con entornos m�s abiertos aqu� y all�, su presencia es insuficiente, y se nota que las rutinas de los enemigos han sido dise�adas pensando en entornos mucho m�s reducidos.
Uno de los puntos a favor de Hero of Sparta reside en la variedad de armas que se ofrecen, y el diferente comportamiento de las mismas. Aunque cinco fases no son muchas (el juego es corto, pero est� dentro de la l�nea de duraci�n del g�nero en port�til), las armas aportan el factor diferencial clave. Cada arma tiene sus opciones de combos, y eso es de agradecer. Sin embargo, debemos se�alar que les falta algo de equilibrio: las armas son demasiado poderosas desde muy temprano en la partida. Eso hace que un jugador con un m�nimo de habilidad no tenga que esforzarse mucho en ser eficiente en su combate. Demasiado pronto conseguimos una espada poderosa, de amplio alcance, y sin contratiempos rese�ables. Por lo que el factor estrat�gico, el forzar al jugador a realizar combos, esquivar, y volver a la ofensiva, se disuelve por completo. Like a Wii controller (which everybody loved, right?) but smaller - meaning more hand cramps - these things look uncomfortable, cheap, and destined for the back of the sofa or the bottom of a drain in a year's time.
