Heroes united: Batman and Robin will meet Superman during their questThe brick’s hit the fan (yet again) in another brilliant outing in the LEGO franchise from the terrific TT developers.They have built a dream game - one brick at a time.And holy-expectations Batman, they had a lot to live up to. Because the majority of previous outings involving the family-friendly gold mine have been in tip-top form.There’s been a-brick-adabra wizardry with LEGO Harry Potter as well as swashbuckling smash 'n' grabbing in LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean. And let’s not forget the LEGO lightsabers from the Star Wars version.All of these titles bow down to the original master, the 11-million selling LEGO Batman. So does the sequel have a hope in Harley Quinn’s hell of matching up to its predecessor. Of course it does.Not only does LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes combine the exciting aspects of the other games, but it tries to expand further with a lengthy single-player mode set in an open-world environment.
And what a joy it is to see the characters finally talking - previous LEGO games used comical grunts and chuckles during cut-scenes. As unique and cute as this was, TT has done the right thing in taking the next step to grow the characters.Story wise, the dastardly Joker is in Gotham and ready to smash some bricks. He interrupts the Man of the Year award ceremony (which, of course, was supposed to be Bruce Wayne’s big night) and things get ugly. That's some cool trick, man! Batman watches in envy as Superman melts metal Joker teams up with Lex Luthor and lets all the bad guys out of Arkham jail. The characters are delightfully detailed and each has their own persona. For example, Batman’s underlying jealousy of Superman slowly bubbles to surface, as Mr S continues to pop up to help out the Dark Knight with his annoyingly awesome powers.Thus begins your action adventure as the caped crusader and his athletic little mate, Robin. Along the journey, you are introduced to a number of DC characters including Superman and Wonder Woman as you try to battle the evil likes of Lex Luthor, the Penguin, Harley Quinn and Two-Face.The story and cutscenes are sliced effortlessly into the gaming experience and there’s no unnecessary hanging around while you wait to get back into the action.
The scenery and effervescent surroundings make for absorbing entertainment which is incredibly hard to tear away from. The action is just as addictive.You'll get to drive the Batmobile around the city As in most LEGO titles, you need to work as a team to advance through the levels. Each character has their own skills and in Batman 2, there are special suits that give you extra abilities. Batman can jump into an Electrical suit to absorb any shocking objects or jump into a Power outfit to blow stuff up. Robin has his own wonderful wardrobe, too. His Athletic outfit allows him to jump, flip and spring himself through seemingly impossible gaps - sticking beautifully to Robin’s circus background.And then there’s Superman, who can do anything. He can fly, freeze water falls with his ice breath (allowing others to then climb up them) or use his laser beam eyes to cut through metal.If there’s two of you playing, you’ll have to share Superman. If you’re on your own and jumping between characters, it can get a little cluttered with three on the screen at once.
But the teamwork ethos makes this a wonderful family game and the challenges are not as easy as you’d think.The collectables are as plentiful as ever (this gamer’s OCD went into overdrive as he desperately tried to collect as many purple LEGO coins as possible). He's behind you: The Joker is up to his usual tricks so it's time to bring him down The coins can be found by button-mashing your way through objects and bad guys. Each character also has his/her own takedown moves which can vary depending on what buttons you hit. It is slightly frustrating that the bad guys are so easy to dispatch of and the lack of AI takes a slight edge off the game overall.As well as that, there is the chance of rescuing an innocent bystander in every level. All this adds to your total score and your gold LEGO brick collection.This means excellent replayability as you jump back into levels already completed in order to collect everything and rescue everyone. The open world aspect to the game really expands the franchise.
You can go cruising around in the Batmobile collecting coins, running over bad guys and shooting plant pots.One small gripe is the lack of a mini-map - despite a trail of light-blue coins showing you the way, it’s incredibly easy to get lost and the final destination is not always as obvious as you’d like. But the sat-nav fail is not the end of the world. In fact, there’s very little that can be said against Batman 2: DC Super Heroes.It is a glorious game which grows in stature - level by level, piece by piece.Superheroes deserve a super game - and Batman 2 is that game.Along with some great footage from the new game we have an interview here with Will Evans a Designer on the game. This should be above Lego Star Wars because there is so much to do! This game is seriously one of the biggest free-roaming games out there, it has classic Lego humour, the plot of the story is pretty decent and it has the biggest character roster of any Lego game to date and most of them have different powers/abilities.

Best Lego game ever!the concept about 3 gangs that have each different plans is a great idea.they designed the games atmosphere after the animated series and it rocks.the 1989 batman soundtrack fits better than ever!they even let you play the game from the villains perspective!they have all your favorite characters, the only 2 they missed were: firefly and ventrilloquist/scarfaceyou can have fun with a brother/sister/friend and have some challenging puzzles but they aren't near as fun as Lego Indiana jones 1.but its still fun. I remember when this game first came out I was like wow my favourite super hero is being transformed into a Lego game. I thought that was pretty good. While Lego Indy 2 has free roam and all four movies, the levels are literally nothing like the movies besides plot. Lego Indiana Jones which first was a movie and now this is great but not great then Lego batman Excellent games that follows the movies well, with lots of great characters and missions. 100% better than the terrible sequel This is exciting game should be higher 5 LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes This is probably the most important lego game for two reasons: one because it started the dialogue in lego games and because it was one of the first lego game with a big free roamYou can play the whole justice league. The plot is good and the levels are interesting to play through. One of the best I am not personally a big fan of this one I say its one of the weaker ones in the story franchises but levels were fun although no map in a low lit gotham your gonna end up lost Played this for hours when it came out 6 LEGO Lord of the Rings I've played and own almost all of the Lego games and this one by far takes the cake.
I love the quests and map with the ability to warp to any location. It just makes it so much fun and convenient. Music is awesome, I just put it on and let it play while I'm doing stuff around the house. The most in-depth of the lego games, filled with amazing imagery straight from Tolkien and incredible music played at just the right time, it's simply gorgeous. Great game, dialogue and sound are amazing. I've got 89.7%, all characters and treasures and I'm still not tired of it. It is pure open world need I say more 7 LEGO Star Wars III The Clone Wars I cheat coded everything, but I love the game and gameplay, the graphics, the sound, the characters, all of it. Whoever said it's the worst should play Indiana Jones 2. VERY underrated, the Lego Star Wars games have in general been really fun to play and this is no exception. I've 100% this game twice (something I don't find myself doing with the latest released) and I forse myself coming back to the best Lego game time and time again.
Loved there different approach to this game adding three different story lines and new level types The best Lego game with massive battlefields 8 Lego Jurassic World Based on classic scenes from all four films with great humour, you can also play as the dinosaurs too. Must have for dinosaur and Lego fans everywhere, great for all ages. I'd love to see it at No. 8 or so, not Top 5 material, but it's competing with some of the best games ever. Give it some love. This game is amazing how is it so low down It is fun to do over and over again. I have played this and I think it is the best Lego game for a character list I LOVE this game so much I like flash and beast boy Worst lego game I have ever played. 11 LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean Cannot stop playing it, I loved it and still do, despite the fact that I've had 100% on it for ages. First Lego game I played, will always remember it. Captain jack sparrow in Lego form that's awesome 12 LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 One of my ever favorites. I wouldn't give it a No. 1, but I give it a No. 3 and it's absolutely wonderful, and I've got 32% but am not complaining, that means I can play and play on. This is a great game. Should be in top 5! I like it a lot because of the level creation. How is this 12 it should at least be in top 5 13 Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues I actually loved this game it had so much in it and the cut stories were not really cut they were just as long as the original adventures maybe even longer, it was funnier too, also the ability to create levels was amazing why everyone hated it I don't know
Accolates for this game have so much to learn. No offense, none intended at all, but I opened this game on Christmas, 2011, and popped it in and just was so disappointed. It is the first Lego Game to include open world hub Best LEGO game ever, the haters suck. 14 Lego City Undercover This Lego Grand Theft Auto except with less violence and just as fun as Grand Theft Auto V! Good graphics fun side missions and a excellent plot with the amazing, funny, and classic Lego humor. If your a Lego video games fan looking for a great Lego game for your wii you this is a reccomdation! This would even for none Lego fans. The 3ds adaption is only 4 stars while the wii you is a perfect 5! If this game was out for more consoles other than the Wii U, I bet it would be much higher on this list. Excellent game with huge open world, great missions, good voice acting, and a boatload of content. Hands down my favorite Lego game since Complete Saga. Has the most detail and best selection of vehicles and characters.
The characters don't just make stupid grunts, they actually talk. It also has the biggest map. Definitely my favorite game. While I can see a game such as Lego Marvel above it, or other older games above it, but games like Lord of the Rings, Batman 2, Lego City Undercover, and Harry Potter 5-7. I'd like to see it way higher. I have 52.3% but all the characters and DLC, and the levels are so enticing, great sound, and amen to the guy who said Kili is the best dwarf. How is this so low? It's the best Lego Game! This is definitely the best game I've never played this, and I won't go hating on it for this reason, but Bionicle is one of my least favorite Lego themes. 20 Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens One of the best Star Wars game of all time. I played it the day it came out and was not disappointed. Wonderful free roam hubs. The movie was pretty good so I kinda have high expectations for this one Really really good game.
