Thankfully, they have released the building instructions for Lego Digital Designer in both Locomotive and Power Functions forms. Once you create a build guide in LDD, the last page of that guide will give you a parts list of everything you need to construct the train.

Then it is as easy (or hard) as sourcing all the elements you need from Lego Pick-A-Brick and/or Brick Link. I can guarantee that not all of the elements necessary are available on Lego's online store, so you will have to navigate the nightmare which is buying brick on the grey market. I can think of few things that I hate doing more. They've also released the following video showing you how to modify your locomotive mode Jules Verne Train to accept the power functions elements. You're reading Leg Godt, the blog with the latest Lego news and the best sets in the web. Follow us on Twitter or Facebook. BACK TO THE FUTURE TRAIN Official LEGO Comments 2 This is the Time Machine made out of a 19th century locomotive for the movie Back To the Future III. If you have not seen this train you can take a close look at it in this &feature;=relmfu. Despite the fact that the overhauled time machine is only shown during the very last 3 minutes of the movie, through the years it has developed into an iconic symbol of this incredible trilogy and a "must" for BTTF collectors.

The set is made in two independent parts. The locomotive and what seems to be some sort of a remodeled coal wagon. There's very liitle explanation in the movie as to how the train functions except that it is "fueled" by plain water and that to transport to one time to another, the wheels fold inward and it deploys some bat shaped wings from underneath while it flies to its destiny.I choose to make this train as a fully functioning LEGO train. The base is an adapted copy of the Night Emerald including the internal mechanism which makes the gears at each side to roll as the train goes over the tracks, powered by a 9V/6 wheels train engine. Both pieces are attached to each other by standard train magnets. The cabin includes the doors made in the original designed as seen in the video. However, I included a "drop-down" back door to allow a much better access to its interior which is fully decorated and has enough room for 2 or even 3 minifigs (including a chair). If you would like to see high resolution pictures of this beautiful set, please CLICK HERE!

Hit the jump to check out all three LEGO projects and hopefully help vote them into production. We’ve posted about LEGO Ideas in the past. The platform was most famously responsible for making the Back to the Future Delorean time machine LEGO set that was released last year. The way it works, LEGO fanatics submit their LEGO creations and the LEGO Ideas community can support an idea. If a project gets 10,000 or more supporters, the LEGO idea gets qualified for review. At that point, the LEGO Review Board chooses which projects become new LEGO sets. Aside from the Back to the Future build, other sets voted into production include a LEGO mincraft set, the Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover, and the asteroid exploration spacecraft HAYABUSA.PetKam created a Back to the Future LEGO Hill Valley Clock Tower diorama in the 1955 version. Here is the official project description:Here is my version of the iconic building from the Back to the Future movies. The Hill Valley Clock Tower (1955 edition) is the perfect companion piece to go with your Official Lego Ideas DeLorean.

The set would also come with 2 minifigures: Doc Brown in his “weather experiment” gear and a police officer.Right now this project has only a few hundred votes, so it could use your help. It would be great to house your LEGO DeLorean time machine next to a location from the film, don’t you think?Speaking of some scenery, the next bunch of projects are recreations from Back to the Future Part II by LEGO builder OrionPax. First up is a recreation of the Clock tower from 2015 Hill Valley.Next up, the LEGO recreation of the Jaws 19 Movie Theater from 2015 Hill Valley which only has a couple hundred votes, and could use your support.Next up is a LEGO recreation of the Texaco gas station from 2015 Hill Valley. You can vote for it here. And here is a LEGO recreation of the Cafe 80’s restaurant from 2015 Hill Valley. Vote for it here. Now imagine if you put all the Back to the Future 2 buildings together:And finally, GRusso has created a LEGO Time Train from the end of Back to the Future Part III.
