Ant-Man is a Marvel Super Heroes minifigure that was physically released in 2015. Scott Lang, a man forced into thievery to save his ill daughter, stole the Ant-Man costume and some Pym-Particles from Hank Pym to commit robberies. Eventually Hank allowed him to keep the Ant-Man identity if he reformed, so he did and became a reserve member of the Fantastic Four, and later joined the Avengers Scott Lang, a man forced into thievery to give back the money VistaCorp stole from it's customers, is branded a criminal and is divorced and distanced from his wife, Maggie, and his daughter, Cassie. After breaking into a house and finding a strange suit with shrinking capabilities, he is approached by Hank Pym, the former superhero Ant-Man, who offered him a chance at redemption. He does so, and Pym gives him the Ant-Man suit, making him his successor as Ant-Man. In one of his attempts to steal Darren Cross's Yellow Jacket suit, he is followed home and they dueled using children's toys, enlarged when they both used Pym Particles.

He defeated Cross by going sub-atomic into YJ's suit, the same way Pym lost his wife. However, Scott made it out alive as Cross blinked out of existence. During the events of Civil War, Falcon mentioned to Captain America that he knew a guy, after the two's encounter. He was later awoken in front of the Anti-Registrators, where he was "thinked they thanked" of him. While fighting Iron Man's team, he used his Pym Particles to grow into Giant-Man. However, when the novice hero Spider-Man used an idea based on Star Wars Episode V's AT-AT takedown, Scott was shrunken to his usual size. He then, as Tony Stark's consciousness, was able to disable the genius' weaponry. However, after being defeated, he was later incarcerated on the Raft like most of his fellow teammates. The two major comic book giants — DC and Marvel — have both had massive success adapting their material to the LEGO universe by putting their iconic characters into the hands of fans in a way that is accessible for all ages. A new trailer for Marvel’s latest LEGO offering — LEGO Marvel’s Avengers — has just been released. It highlights the vast scope of the game’s open world, as well as a familiar face from the movies who will finally suit up: The Wasp. Jam packed with recreations of action set pieces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the trailer takes the live grandiosity of Marvel’s superhero films and adds some characteristic LEGO irreverence. There’s Hawkeye taking on Loki during the Battle of New York, Thor beating down dark elves, and even a version of The Avengers post-credit scene where Hulk hogs all the shawarma. Towards the end of the trailer, the narrator touts the wide open nature of the game’s New York setting, showing The Wasp (portrayed by Evangeline Lily in the MCU) flying around the massive skyscrapers exploring the environment.

It’s at this point that the trailer extends beyond the films and showcases the vast number of Marvel heroes from the comics that players will be able to interact with throughout the game’s open, ready-to-explore world. Highlighting the ability to play as The Wasp is a smart move on the part of the developers, because it plays up the fact that the game will not necessarily find itself beholden to the continuity of the MCU. While Hope van Dyne (or Hope Pym) appeared in Marvel’s most recent outing Ant-Man, she did not don her iconic Wasp outfit at any point during the film. Many of the set pieces and action sequences will be directly adapted from Marvel’s highly successful films, but the games have clearly opted to do what’s best for players, rather than what’s best for die hard fans of the films. Making The Wasp a playable character in a game so far ahead of Ant-Man and the Wasp‘s theatrical release could also serve the purpose of affirming her place in the Marvel universe for more casual fans.
