The sets of bricks come in different sizes, ranging from 30 to 400 pieces, and are often themed. They allow kids to delve into the world of building and creating. Sometimes Lego produces sets based on well-known movies and characters such as Batman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Lord of the Rings. The Legend of Chima series is unique to Lego and was developed by the company themselves. The Legend of Chima series (also known simply as Lego Chima) is a themed collection of toys and bricks set in a fantasy-style land called Chima. Since the release of the series, there have been video games and a TV series developed and released. It is based around a fantasy world and includes many characters and tribes who fight over a resource known in the game as 'chi'. Items in the series include a lot of references to nature, with characters and vehicles named after animals and landscapes.
The story behind the game is highly developed, and provides an imaginative world for kids to enter and play in. From 2015 onwards, this series was not developed or updated and it was more or less replaced with a new collection and story - the Lego Nexo Knights. The sets are still available to purchase but there will be no new additions to the Chima series. Some examples of characters from the series include Cragger, from the crocodile tribe, Eris from the bird tribe and Sir Fangar who is the leader of the Ice Hunters. Sir Fangar's aim is to collect and freeze one figure from every tribe. These figures are sometimes included with the sets, with various combinations available. After the launch of the series, new characters were created and introduced. The characters are anthropomorphic animals who lived in peace together - once upon a time - until a conflict caused a war among the 19 tribes. Each group possesses their own unique qualities, powers and aims. Most of the items listed here are sets of pieces, though there are some vehicles and single figures also available.
The sets range in size from those that contain 35 pieces and below, such as Ewar's Acro Fighter Set, to sets of 400 pieces and above. Large sets of 400 pieces and more include bricks, figures, accessories such as armour or weapons, and vehicles such as helicopters and tanks to build and adapt. Some collections include electronic parts for extra-impressive construction. For these, batteries will be required. Most of these toys are suitable for children aged at 6 years and above. It is important to check with the individual sets as some are more advanced and intricate than others. Lego is a popular toy and has many fans worldwide.
