Posted on Mar 26, 2015 by My Warehouse Home A year after it first opened, popular East London pub has now launched The Culpeper Kitchen on the first floor. The gastro pub occupies a handsome Victorian building on the corner of Petticoat Lane market and takes its name from a once local botanist, Nicholas Culpeper. The botanical theme is evident throughout The Culpeper’s menu of British dishes, seasoned with herbs grown on the pub’s roof. But it also continues throughout the interior décor too. A four-floored light well and original Victorian windows have been restored to fill the building with natural light. On the rooftop, a conservatory awaits summer days and sunny evenings. The original features have been complemented by carefully considered furniture and decorative pieces. The style is laid-back yet sophisticated, with luminous pendant lights, stone pot plants and assorted vintage bar stools. Upstairs in the newly opened restaurant space, classic design elements such as Ercol chairs and a wooden chevron floor are offset with the eye-catching turquoise booths.
