But fear not, T/A fans: graphic designer Kevin Morgan sketched out a modern-day Trans Am and designed a kit to turn your Camaro from Chevrolet blah into Pontiac huzzah.
TransAm Depot plans to unveil a converted car at the Trans Am Nationals later this month and start selling it a few months later. The Phoenix T/A kit includes lowered suspension with an anti-roll bar; 20-inch wheels in gold or silver, wrapped in Pirelli P-Zeros; a new hood, “shaker” scoop, and front fenders; a new rear fascia, spoiler, and taillights; aluminum dash and door panels; and gratuitous Trans Am graphics. The end result certainly recalls the ’77-’78 Firebird and Trans Am. No word yet on pricing for this kit that brings screaming chickens back to life. Of course, the cost will include that of a new Camaro—but can you really put a price tag on nostalgia?
