WalzCraft’s Designer Glass inserts offer a variety of looks and styles to customize frame and mullion doors. Many options are available to enhance the look and style of kitchen cabinetry, hutches, and built-ins. While frame and mullion doors have a functional purpose, using Designer Glass will achieve a more dramatic look. WalzCraft’s Designer Glass uses high quality imported art glass. A dozen patterns are available to help customize the look and style of each individual project.
With glass clarity options available in obscure, slightly obscure, tinted, clear, and even mirror glass, there is sure to be a perfect fit for any application. All patterns are also available sandblasted to create even more options. When ordering WalzCraft’s Designer Glass inserts with frame or mullion doors, simply select the glass pattern you desire and it will arrive at your door ready to install. WalzCraft will automatically calculate your glass sizes, saving time and eliminating the risk of buying glass panels that aren’t a precise fit. Designer glass is 1/8” thick, and can be used in conjunction with WalzCraft’s rubber glass retainer. The glass can also be ordered independently for applications that do not require a cabinet door to be made. For an added touch, Designer Glass can also be ordered in a Leaded Glass Configuration. Leaded glass can be used to enhance the look and design of hutches and built-ins, offering a more decorative appearance than cabinet glass alone. When used in kitchen cabinetry, leaded glass doors can go a long way in achieving a certain theme or style. Using these accent doors when remodeling historic kitchens can blend the new cabinetry seamlessly into the rest of the home. Certain styles, such as Prairie and Craftsman Style architecture, can incorporate these doors and drastically improve the design of the project. Leaded glass inserts are available independently or with frame only doors. When ordering with a frame only door, all door profiles are available and WalzCraft will calculate the size of the glass needed to fit the opening. WalzCraft offers 12 standard configurations for leaded glass patterns. All WalzCraft Designer Glass Patterns are available for leaded glass windows with the exception of DG-05. This offers an impressive 144 standard combinations. WalzCraft’s leaded glass products all use high quality imported art glass, which are then hand fit by skilled Artisans in the USA.
Individual pieces of glass and lead caming (mullions separating the individual pieces of glass) are assembled, soldiered on both sides, and cemented in place with glazing putty to prevent any rattling. Wherever a frame or mullion door is being used, consider the option of leaded glass inserts to create a unique and decorative look. This offers a truly customized end result. More information about WalzCraft Leaded Glass Jade and Starfire Glass Shelving is available in both 1/4“ and 3/8“ thicknesses. When looking at the edge of a Jade Glass shelf, it has a distinct dark green color. The Starfire Glass shelf has a 60% clearer edge than the Jade Glass shelf (light green color). Each glass shelf is made to your exact size and includes premium high gloss polished edges on all four sides. Maximum size is 15″ x 40″, while it is suggested to order 3/8″ thick glass for pieces 24″ or longer. For a perspective on the strength or our high quality custom glass shelving, a 3/8″ thick piece of glass is considered to be as strong as a 3/4″ piece of wood.
