I ended up throwing it away, because it had a bad odor. A sales associate at another store told me it was due to the duck feathers, and I should try a goose down pillow. I did, and I still enjoy that pillow almost 20 years after I bought it.
My question is will there be an odor to this duvet, or are your ducks given a diet that eliminates this issue? I'm trying to decide between this comforter and one of your goose down duvets. I live in a subtropical area, so I am afraid your Hungarian goose down may be too warm. But I don't want a stinky duvet, either.Thank in advance for your help.2/17/2017Melinda United States1 answer CUSTOMER CARE A: Hi Melinda. The Alberta™ Euro Down Comforter. Feather filled products may have an odor because the odor can cling to the quill that feathers have. This usually goes away after airing out, and with use. Our comforters are filled with down, not feathers. Down has no quill and has no odor. Answered on 2/18/2017 by Customer Service from The Company StoreQ: I sleep in a room that is below 60 degrees at night in the winter. I plan on using this comforter without a top sheet and no duvet cover. I have a queen bed but want to buy your king size comforter so that it will be long enough on the sides and bottom.
Will this comforter be warm enough under these conditions?2/9/2017Pat Falls Church, VA1 answer CUSTOMER CARE A: Hi Pat - The Alberta Comforter in the Extra Warmth is recommended for room temperatures 62-65 degrees. If you like to sleep just a bit warm this item may still work for you if your room temperature is between about 57-62 degrees. If you like to sleep very warm we would recommend going to our Ultra Warmth which unfortunately is not available in the Alberta comforter. We do offer our Organic Cotton RDS Down Comforter in Ultra warmth which is machine washable like the Alberta.
