After lunch, visit Nagasaki’s new Megami Bridge, the longest cable-stayed bridge on Japan’s southern island of Kyushu!Meals included: Breakfast This morning, visit the hot spring fields of Unzen Onsen - a town near the peak of Mount Unzen. Continue to Shimbara Port for your car ferry transfer to Kumamoto.Visit the Kumamoto Castle, one of the most impressive castles and a few castles that survived since 1607. Then, head to ryokan, Kurakawa Onsen, near the foot of Mt Aso, Japan’s largest active volcano. Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner Morning, drive to Kusasenri where we can see the Mt Aso Crater.This active volcano has one of the largest caldera, spanning a circumference of around 75 miles. Then, take a thrilling walk across the Kokonoe “Yume” Ootsuribashi for a feel of the Oita wilderness. This suspension footbridge, at 173 meters tall and 375 meters across, is the longest and highest of its kind in the world. Enjoy lunch in Yufuin town, a hot-spring resort with unique art museums, restaurants and coffee shops.




Visit the beautiful Lake Kinrin-ko with hot water and cold pure spring gushing from the bottom! Return to your ryokan this evening and relax. Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner Drive to Takachiho town and visit Takachiho Shrine where you will be nestled in tall cedars. See the Amanoiwato Shrine, built near the cave where Amaterasu is said to have hid herself away.After lunch, take a leisurely self-rowing boat trip down the Takachiho Gorge (2 persons in one boat), , a narrow chasm cut through the rock by the Gokase River. Check into your stunning ryokan.This evening at 8pm, enjoy a Yokagura Night Dance just walking distance from your hotel. This one hour show reenacts a few scenes from the legend, performed by masked dancers with traditional instrument accompaniment.Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner Drive 3 hours to Kirishima, an active volcanic mountain range of stunning highlands, hot springs and numerous hiking trails. Head to the Arimura Observatory to see the geographical features and vegetation resulting from the lava flow from the great eruption of 1914. Afternoon, transfer to Chiran, a small well-preserved samurai district. Then, visit the Chiran Tokko Museum, which preserves documents, letters and belongings of the members of the special attack crops called “kamikaze pilots” who resorted to flying warplanes into enemy warships towards the end of World War 2.Drive to Kagoshima airport and connect your flight back home.
