We have reviewed the very best electric air pumps that money can buy. You can have the peace of mind to know you can inflate a flat tire on the side of the road. How about blowing up the kid’s pool toys or sorting out the inflatable bed for the in-laws in minutes? Pumps are now smaller, more compact and easier to use, without compromising on quality and functionality. In some cases, you’ll need to plug the pump into a wall socket, but there are also options which work with a 12V cigarette lighter socket. We have cut out the confusion and made choosing the perfect product as simple as possible. Our clear winner for best value, reliability and speed is the Goodyear i8000 Inflator. Bear in mind, this pump is a little beast! It inflates at lightning speed BUT it MUST be plugged into a wall socket. If you have had any doubt as to which one to choose for home use, look no further, this little compressor will have a completely flat tire pumped up in under 5 minutes and it’s effortless.

Not only does the air compressor perform really well, it is one of the quietest we’ve tested and its sturdy build will have it lasting for many years to come. It is lightweight but sturdy and will no doubt be up to any task. The metal housing on the top of the compressor does heat up but this is to be expected and is the reason for the silver cover. The design is such that the unit will cool down quickly to be stored away easily. This is ideal for anyone who would prefer to spend a few extra dollars for a quality product that will get the job done quickly and effortlessly. Just plug it into the wall and let it get to work. At number two we have the Black & Decker ASI300 Air Station Inflator and we have to say we love it and it comes in as a very close second. It also comes with a 12 volt Car adapter! This gem is slightly higher priced than our number one choice but it is a sturdy, portable device that can simply be plugged into the wall (or 12 volt car socket) and be used for cars, bikes, kid’s toys, balls and blow up mattresses.

We love the additional “switch-off” feature. All you do is set your desired pressure and when the guage reaches the correct air pressure, it turns itself off. The cords are a little on the short side. For a few dollars an extension is easily available if needed. This is the perfect electric air pump for the home and for camping enthusiasts. This super quick, tough tool will be a helpful addition to your outdoor gear and you will never battle to inflate a tire again. Plus, it comes with a 2 year warranty from a manufacturer with a history of excellent support service. Next we have the Kwik Tek AIRHEAD. Tested for durability, this bright yellow inflator will not easily be misplaced. It is easy to use and has a conveniently large handle and comes with all the basic nozzles and attachments. The Kwik Tek is wall powered only so not ideal for camping if you are relying on your cars cigarette lighter but is inflates quickly and is perfect for home use. It is ideal for virtually all home use purposes and anyone needing a reliable little pump from odd jobs around the house.

It will easily inflate blow up pools and more in a few minutes and seems a little quieter than some of the cheaper options. Number four on our list is the LifeLine AAA 300 PSI 12 Volt Air Compressor. This little electric inflator is ideal for home use, from inflating tires, floatation devices, mattresses and more by simply plugging it into your cars cigarette outlet. It’s a great little backup tool to have in the boot of your car should your tires need attention on a long trip. Additionally, it comes standard with 3 nozzles for different applications and has a pressure gauge so you can monitor the correct pressure. It’s a little on the noisy side but as it works fairly quickly; this is not something to worry about. Most basic home use pumps have around the same noise output and it does have the benefit of having people thinking you are hard at work. This is the ideal option for you if you are buying on a budget as it is inexpensive, compact and gets the job done.

At number five we have the Intex Quick-Fill AC. This is the cheapest pump on our list and is ideal for inflating pool and kids toys. It is however sturdy enough to be up for a challenge and could easily inflate a tire if you are stuck on the side of the road and needing to top up a wheel to get to a petrol station. With the excellent affordability, there is no need to inflate anything manually again. The nozzle attachments are cleverly joined which will help you avoid losing the smaller pieces. It does not have a handle so is a little harder for small hands to manage but it gets the job done none the less. For this price, its worth a bit of clumsy handling If you only need it a few times a year to inflate the occasional mattress or floatation device, this pump is the perfect, cheap solution to have lying in the garage. That sums up out top 5 selection but we have a little gem to add. The Intex Raised Downy Airbed. While researching several inflators we came across this clever and affordable invention for those of you who are investigating an inflator for the sole purpose of inflating up an inflatable mattress.

For roughly the same price you can invest in the Intex Airbed which has a built-in electric pump.  This inflatable bed is queen size and can be setup in as little as 5 minutes, all you need to do is plug it into an outlet. The high-powered, built-in pump is easy to use and will have you setting up your guest bed with no hassle. You can inflate and deflate to you preferred firmness. This inflatable bed is easy to store and conveniently accommodates a standard queen fitted sheet. This is an absolute must if you have regular visitors. When buying a product, ensure it is suited for the type of use you will be applying it to. If you will be using it more regularly, it is best to invest in a higher quality, durable device that will handle the more frequent use. If you will be using it as a backup for a flat tire, ensure it connects to your cars cigarette lighter. Always test the device when it arrives to ensure it is in perfect working order. Don’t be stuck in an emergency with a fault product.
