Your air mattress is breaking down. All those little circles have plastic tubes that connect one side of the mattress to the other. Some of them have broken loose. There’s no way to fix them.Live with the bulge as long as you can. If you’re going to buy another air mattress, buy one of the same size. Cut the end of the mattress with the air valve out of the old mattress, and begin to turn it inside out. Cut away as much of the plastic connectors as you can, taking some care not to penetrate the surface. When you’re finished cutting out the connectors, turn the old mattress right side out. Now partially inflate the new mattress and insert it inside the old mattress. Once it’s completely in, finish inflating it. The old mattress will provide some support for the new mattress to keep the plastic columns from breaking. It will also help to prevent puncturing the new mattress.I was A2A for some reason so here goes. What kind of mattress is it? If it's one of those things you buy at the Drug Store to float around your wading pool;

just buy a new one. If you are talking about an inflatable Bed mattress, you have a problem. If it's under Warranty, contact the manufacturer for a replacement. If it's not under Warranty, either buy a new Bed or try to fix it yourself. I can only guess on how to repair this because I do not know what the air bladder is made out of. If it is Vinyl, go to a good Hardware Store and ask for a Vinyl Repair Kit. I have used them on my Waterbed back in the ’70s and they work pretty well if you follow the instructions carefully. Of course, me being me, I might just deflate the thing and put a couple layers of Duct Tape over the bulge and call it good while trying to figure out how to put a new mattress that doesn't use Air into my budget. I have developed a distinct dislike for “hydraulic” mattresses of any type over the years. I have spent so much of my life outdoors, I actually prefer the floor with just a half inch of foam under me. Unfortunately, my Wife does not share that sentiment and we use a Memory Foam mattress instead.

A flocked air bed lets you sleep comfortably while camping. The difference between an inflatable air mattress and a flocked-top air bed is not substantial -- but the situations in which you use the different air mattresses may be. Both mattresses require inflation before you can use them, via a manually operated foot pump or a powered pump that fills the mattress with air. Price differences vary based on the air bed size, flocking, profile, and whether the mattress comes with a pump and repair kit. Flocked Air Beds Most flocked beds are meant for use when you're traveling or camping. The mattress typically has a bottom made of a thick or extra durable vinyl for exterior conditions, such as on the ground or inside a tent. The mattress top is made of a special flocked velvet-like coating that eliminates the need for sheets, though most people use this air bed with sleeping bags anyway. It's always a good idea to set a tarp on the ground to place the bed upon, to prevent punctures from sharp rocks or twigs.

Inflatable Air Mattress Not much different from a flocked air bed, an inflatable air mattress is primarily designed for indoor use. While it can include a flocked top, depending on the model you buy, an air mattress for indoor use usually is sized so standard sheets fit the mattress, making the flocked top unnecessary. It also typically does not contain a thicker vinyl on the bottom, as it is designed to sit directly on the floor. These beds may be taller than many flocked air mattresses, to simulate the height of a real bed, but it depends on the model. Manufacturing Differences Because flock air beds and inflatable mattresses come from a variety of manufacturers, the ways the beds are made also differ by manufacturer. Both of these inflatable mattresses may contain long tubular chambers or could use patented vinyl coils inside the mattress. Some flock air beds are a single mattress layer thick or low profile, as are many inflatable mattresses, while others have two layers, which makes the mattress sit higher off the ground.

Built-In Pumps Some of these air mattresses, with or without flocked tops, come with built-in pumps. These pumps need a power source, usually standard household electricity. But the beds made for traveling or camping usually have a pump that runs off 12-volt power. For inflatable mattresses meant for use indoors, some of the built-in pump beds also have a comfort level setting to adjust the firmness of the mattress. Some beds also have a built-in pillow or raised head so you don't have to bring pillows along.
