Replacement Parts: Pools or Spas | If my airbed has a leak, how can I find it and patch it? First, make sure that the airbed is leaking. Stretching is a natural characteristic of new vinyl and the first few times you use the mattress, some stretching will occur suggesting that the mattress is losing air. It is simply stretching under your body weight and this is normal for the first few uses. To check the mattress for leaks, first make sure the valves are secure, replace it if necessary. You can also put liquid soap and water in a squirt bottle and spray on seams. If there is a leak it will bubble. (Laundry detergent and dishwasher detergent will not work; they do not have the "bubbling" effect) After you find the leak, clean and dry the leaking area, remove the flocking with fine sand paper or an emery board, then apply the repair patch that comes with your airbed. Alternatively, you may purchase an Intex repair kit (#59632) for additional patches. Does the INTEX airbed come with a warranty?

How can I differentiate the valves? A Built-in Pump is a pump that is mounted inside of the airbed with the panel portion showing. A 3-in-1 (part# 10650) Valve has two "clips" on either side of the Valve Cap that allows for easy removal. A 2-in-1 (part #10651) Valve does not have "clips" and instead consists simply of a screw-on cap, and a plug that fits on top, and in the center of the cap itself. The Exhaust Valve Cap (part# 10043) and Plug (part# 10044) consists of a rubber stopper plug that is inserted first, while the screw-on cap is placed on top of the plug. The Double-Valve is a vinyl valve stem that is attached to the mattress and is reminiscent of a beach ball valve. What pump should I use with my airbed? What type of valve does my airbed have? Since my airbed has flocking, how can I use the repair patch - it won't adhere to the flocking? The repair patch is designed for vinyl surfaces only. However, fine sandpaper, or an emery board can be used to gently rub away the flocking.

When that is complete, clean the area with nail polish removal solution so the repair patch will adhere to the bed. How to repair the airbed What is the approximate weight capacity of INTEX airbeds? If you are on a trip in the woods, it is likely you will not be able to use your mattress. If, however, you find yourself at home with a defunct mattress, you can repair it with the right tools. While some air mattresses may come with repair kits for leaks in the air mattress, you may find yourself without a way to fix your broken bed. Thus, it is always a good idea to make sure you have an air mattress repair kit. The internet provides several outlets for learning how to repair a broken mattress and even Intex has even uploaded a custom video which shows viewers how to patch up small holes in an air mattress.

Follow These Steps To Repair Your Intex Airbed Identify the hole and deflate the mattress completely. Clean off the area around the hole. Cut out a small patch of material to cover the hole. Add adhesive to the patch and place it over the hole. Place a heavy object (such as a large book or cement block) over the patched area and leave for twelve hours. Once you have allowed plenty of time for the new patch to stick, inflate the mattress in order to make sure the new patch works. Note: if the patch does not adhere easily or effectively, you may have to sand down the area around the hole before applying the patch. If you purchased a mattress with a flocked cover–one that is covered in small fibers in order to mimic the feeling of suede for additional comfort while sleeping–you should sand down your mattress after step two as the likelihood of your makeshift patch adhering to the mattress is significantly affected by the textured cover. This one to the right gets great reviews and can be used on more than just an air mattress.

If your Intex air mattress pump is broken, you can use alternative methods to inflate your air mattress. Some of these methods may prove convenient if you are out in the middle of the woods with no way to repair your pump or if you cannot make it to the store for any reason. In order to prevent the pump from breaking, you should regularly check a few features. First, the “O-Ring” under the top seal cover may start to crack, and so applying petroleum jelly may prevent breakage. The hoses inside the pump may also start to leak and can be replaced. Additionally, you should check the filters, which should be cleaned and/or changed regularly per the Owner’s Manual. If your pump is already broken, you will likely have to replace it or consult someone with extensive experience repairing pumps and air filters. In any case, if you find yourself with a leak in your mattress or a broken pump and believe either problem is due to a factory error, you should contact Intex’s customer service line and figure out whether or not you can return your product and get a replacement or your money back.
