Tell me about yourself.

Ok, sure. My name is Olya. I'm 24 years old. I have about 5+ years of experience in web design (I mean User Interface & User Experience designer). I've been working in 4 different companies & also doing allot of projects like a freelancer. Well, also I have any interesting hobbies like electronic music writing, playing guitar, create a conceptual photos for my Instagram profile (I know, it's sounds funny, but I take it seriously). Also, I like to code a simple programs in C++, & start to learn Python just for fun.

What do you do in your last job?

On my last job I managed a design team. We worked on a huge corporate product that included desktop & mobile application. I was the only one designer in the Corporate Delivery department & all responsibility was on me.

How did you become a Designer?

In fact, since childhood I dreamed of being a programmer. I even studied software engineering. But then I got acquainted with the design and literally fell in love with this profession. I started learning right away in practice. With small orders for freelancing. When I got enough experience, I found my first job. And since then design is my passion.

Why do you want to change your job?

I had to leave the company because the Corporate Delivery department was closed. We were put on a bench for a month, and then 90 percent of the department employees had to leave the company because they did not find projects.

Tell me about a project you’re proud of
I have gained invaluable experience in my previous work. Experience of interaction and team management. But, if we talk about the project that I did independently, I am most proud of the development of the CPM system. My task was to fully establish workflow via the CPM system. I combined set tasks, the progress of their implementation and the interaction of the team in the process of work. And at the same time, I realised a beautiful UI and comfortable UX.

Where is it interesting to move on?

First of all, I want to engage in serious projects that are useful to people. It's very important factor to me. Also, I understand that there is no limit in my development and therefore I want to work in a new sphere for myself. And I repeat, I am very interested in the sphere of artificial intelligence, because this is the future.

Describe your working process
First step is research (for example, about the product business model, clients goals & needs). Also, I learn more about regular users. When I know as much as it possible about the product & it's major competitors I start with creating Customer Journey Map. Perfectly, I coordinate with the stakeholder to avoid spending extra time in the future. Next step is about creating wireframes based on researchers with close cooperation with the copywriter. After that we create a starter pack of UI kit & focus on development whole style. At this stage for me the main goal to bring the main message of the product to the customers. Then we have such a stages as design, creating MVP version of product, testing (at this stage very important to determine the theories which can solve arisen problems).
