8TURN, who debuted in January last year, returned 7 months later with their third mini-album "STUNNING". Through this album, they demonstrated their self-confidence and their updated look, singing about their boundless self-confidence and their overflowing style even without any decorations.
Jaeyun: "We're coming back in 7 months with our third mini album. I'm even happier because this comeback is approaching our first debut anniversary (laughs). I think we can show our side, which has grown and become much cooler than when we debuted. I'm happy. We also have high hopes for this comeback."
This album contains a total of 5 songs, including the title song "RU-PUM PUM" and the fan song "GLOW", which the members participated in writing the lyrics. Tracks 1 to 5 contain the stories of eight boys who will surprise the world.
Jaeyun: "The word '스터닝' has the meaning of 'cool' or 'amazing'. It contains the desire to overcome any difficulties with the help of our style, confidence and faith. The keyword that runs through the entire album also sounds like this: "I think it can be defined as "스터닝". I want to impress the audience with both our visual effects and performances so that everyone is surprised and thinks it's cool."
Members Yungyu and Seungheon participated in writing the lyrics of the title song "RU-PUM-PUM". This song is hip-hop with an ever-growing energy, giving an exciting feeling like riding a roller coaster. It's also a song that embodies their overflowing style and boundless confidence.
Yoonsung: "This song "RU-PUM-PUM" is characterized by strong beats and exciting lyrics. There are parts in the lyrics that demonstrate our style, and that's the point too (laughs). In addition, I think that the participants will be able to demonstrate their individual charm by participating in the writing of the lyrics."
Seungheon: "Yungyu participated in writing the lyrics of the song "WORLD" from our last album, and since then all the members have been interested in songwriting, attended classes and worked hard. While preparing for the third album, we thought it would be nice to participate together, so we worked hard on writing songs (laughs). When I told the company that I wanted to participate in writing the lyrics for this album, they reacted well. The idea was to give meaning to this challenge. They said it was a good opportunity to improve their skills, even if it wasn't included in the album, and we are very proud of the result, as we were able to participate in the writing of the title song."
Kyungmin: "We released this title song as a surprise at the fan concert we held last month, and The applause from the fans was truly special. Haha. They continued to applaud, and I waited for a reaction even after it was over, the response was good (laughs). Therefore, I want to show you this promotion as soon as possible."
Members Jaeyun, Minho, Kyungmin, Yungyu and Seungheon participated in writing the lyrics for the last track of the album "Glow". This is a fan song that expresses sincere feelings and gratitude to the fans with the words: "From the moment I met you, everything in me has changed."
Minho: "Glow" is our second fan song, and it contains a message that we want to convey directly to our fans. Actually, I wanted to participate in the first fan song, but unfortunately I couldn't participate. So I was very glad that this time I had the opportunity to write lyrics (laughs). The moment we met with our fans, everything changed for us, and we expressed this gratitude in a song."
They debuted on January 30th last year and will celebrate their anniversary soon. After the debut, they held a successful expansion ceremony abroad, standing on the stage of "KCON". They have released three albums in a year, are busier than anyone else, are creating a fandom and have set themselves a fruitful goal for their comeback in the New Year.
Kyungmin: Personally, I want to try to take the first place on the music show with "RU-PUM-PUM". As I practiced, this song really got better. It is addictive. We've been working hard and I want to be able to get on the music charts. I think it would be great to get into the TOP 100."
Myungho: Last year I had many opportunities to perform on foreign stages. I think it was the year when I was able to grow up, gaining experience performing on different stages. This time, thanks to this experience, I tried to identify the unique style of each participant. I didn't miss a single vocal or performance, not a single detail, so I want to hear people say after our performance, "They tore it up" and "that was the best."
