In Ethiopia, GIZ has been implementing development programmes on behalf of the German government for over 40 years jointly with our national partners. The focus of our work in the country is on vocational education, sustainable use of natural resources, land management and food security, biodiversity, and forestry. Further programmes enhance the development of a sustainable textile sector and renewable energies. The Textile Centre of Excellence develoPPP (CoE) and Special Initiative Jobs (SI Jobs)) are looking to recruit three interns to join an internship programme as per the detail below. Job Title: Intern Application deadline: 19 December 2019 Place of Work: Addis Ababa The internship programme: The CoE and SI Jobs programs are looking to start an internship training program whereby three dynamic, flexible and pro-active fresh graduate candidates will be selected to follow a three months’ internship. The successful candidates will have the possibility to extend the program for up to six months. One intern will be trained to work with CoE whereby he/she will assist the team in data collection and monitoring of CoE. Two interns will be positioned to work closely with the SI Jobs technical team. Here, he/she will support the technical team in several activities including, but not limited to, the preparation of workshops and data collection. For all three interns, the specific training would look to enhance program-specific as well as generic skills, such as: - Reading skills (understanding text, ability to synthesis information, etc); - Computer skills (typing, Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), etc); - Communications skills (emails, formal group interactions, PowerPoint presentations, etc); - Project management skills (planning, implementing, monitoring, etc); - Monitoring and evaluation skills - Interpersonal skills (punctuality, sense of responsibility, ability to work in a team, etc). Qualification Required & Experience - Bachelor Degree is desirable in either Business Management, Political Studies, Law, Communication studies, or has a textile-related training; - Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English is a plus; - Computer literacy is a plus; - Has an eye for detail; - High degree of initiative, efficiency, integrity, and accountability; - High interest in self-development, intellectual curiosity and has the capacity of thinking outside the box; - Ability to work alone as well as in a team.
