It was a fabulous room, incredibly quiet and comfortable, lovely bathroom. The hot tub overlooking the River Lee outside is unforgettable! We were very pleased with the restaurant and the quality of food served. We found it to be a reasonable price point. The food was impeccably prepared. We enjoyed the fish and chips, the salmon pasta special, The chicken curry, and the chicken goujons, all very yummy, swear the desserts.
We would definitely stay here again. It is approximately 2 miles out of town, with free parking. It's a very pleasant walk into town or an eight euro cab ride or two euro bus ride. I loved running along the banks of the river in both directions. One thing is, however, rather unforgivable at a luxury hotel and that is poor sound insulation! We were in a room on the 1st floor that had internal door leading to the adjoining room. The door was of course locked, but in spite of that I could hear every single word of the conversation our neighbours were having - even though they spoke in a normal voice. At 3 am in the morning, it was as though they were in our room. Room Tip: See if they have rooms without internal doors to adjoining rooms, as the doors have no sound proofin... Stayed one night out of our 10 day Ireland drive about. Great room, lovely hotel.....but our room had an overpowering scent that my wife described as lavender and I thought "RAID". The hotel is a ways from City center and after a long day of driving we decided to eat there. The restaurant was excellent. Great service and food and ok on the budget. Also had breakfast the next morning and it was fabulous.If you don't mind being out of the ceter of things.....and that CAN be a good thing.....stay here.
