Dear visitors of the Kingdom of Thailand!

A comfortable stay in the territory of Thailand begins with the issuance of a VISA. As a rule, a tourist visa is issued 'on arrival' at the airport or in advance at the Consular Section of the Kingdom of Thailand in your country.

The type of visa, legal status and order of residence of non-residents is determined depending on the purpose of visiting the Kingdom of Thailand and the nationality of citizens to a number of countries that have agreements with Thailand on visa regime.

Practically for all types of VIS, the necessary documents are:

Passport or travel document, the validity of which is not less than 6 (six) calendar months

Questionnaire (the address should include the address of the hotel or other place of residence in Thailand)

Two photo cards (3 x 5 cm)

Paid ticket from Thailand

The availability of financial resources of at least 20,000 (twenty thousand) Thai Baht per person

Other documents, depending on the type of visa (visa in the third country, letter from the organizer of the competition, etc.).

Legislation establishes a legal regime for the main types of VIS:

Transit visa. This type of visa is intended for transit visitors (TS category), athletes (category S), persons entering into the crew or the composition of the vehicle carrying out international transport (category C)

Tourist visa. This type is used by non-residents to visit the Kingdom of Thailand for tourist purposes.

Not an immigrant visa (Non-immigrant Visa). This type of visa, according to the categories, has ample grounds for visiting the Kingdom for official purposes.

- Category F - for execution of official orders.

- Category B - for doing business.

- Category IM - for investment purposes, agreed upon

with the Ministries and Authorities of Thailand.

- Category IB - for investment proposals

or investment.

- Category ED - for educational purposes, seminars,

conferences, for training as a foreign Buddhist monk.

- Category M - for work as a producer in cinematography,

journalist or reporter.

- Category R - for charitable or missionary work,

approved by the State organizations of Thailand.

- Category RS - for work in research

institutes.

- Category EX - for work on the exchange of experience of specialists and

experts.

- Category O - other grounds, for family members of employees

state and charitable organizations; for

medical procedures and operations; for sports trainers

national teams; for witnesses or legal participants

or lawsuits.

Diplomatic (official) visa. It is offered to employees of Embassies, foreign Diplomatic Missions or Consular departments and members of their families.

As usual, a tourist visa 'on arrival' at the airport does not exceed the period of 30 (thirty) calendar days.

Non-residents of countries that are declared as territories,

infected with yellow fever, must have an international certificate confirming vaccination. Get a visa at the Royal Consulate in your country before departure.

** Please, remember! The validity period of the visa differs from the period of stay in the country!

The visa validity period is three months, in some cases 6 (six) months, 1 (one) year and 3 (three) years, is pasted into the passport as a visa sticker.

The period of stay is confirmed by the stamp of the officer of the Immigration Service at the port of arrival in accordance with the type of visa. For example, the period of stay on a transit visa is 30 (thirty) days, for a tourist visa - 60 (sixty) days, for a non-immigrant visa - not more than 90 (ninety) days from the date of arrival. Those who want to extend the period of stay can apply to the Immigration Service at the place of residence.

Foreign citizens do not have the right to work without a corresponding visa and Work permit, which is issued by the Department of Labor.

According to the Immigration Act of Thailand (Immigration Act of Thailand B.E. 2522, 1979), a non-resident who has violated one of the following points may be refused entry to the Kingdom:

1. Passport or travel document is not original. A passport or travel document is provided without a valid visa.

2. Lack of financial resources during the visit to the Kingdom.

3. Entry into the Kingdom for employment as an unprofessional employee or working with violations regarding the Alien Work Permit Law.

4. Being in a mentally unstable state or having diseases related to the list of Governmental regulation.

5. The lack of vaccination against smallpox or another virus, as well as the refusal of vaccination offered by the Immigration

doctor.

6. The existence of a criminal record under the decision of the Court of Thailand, a legal injunction or a judicial decision of another country, including penalties for minor offenses and negligence.

7. The presence of behavior that is unsafe for society, the constitutional peace situation, the nation, as well as persons wanted.

8. Suspicions that the purpose of the visit is related to prostitution, trafficking in human beings, smuggling

drugs, other smuggling.

9. Presence of deportation acts by the Government of Thailand or other countries.

If you want to extend your VISA without leaving Thailand, you can do this at the Immigration Service at your place of residence. The VISA Tour, which was received at the Consulate, is extended to 30 (thirty) calendar days and the 'on arrival' visa can be extended for 7 (seven) calendar days.

If you have a business, pension or marriage visa, you must prepare the documents in a special form and can extend your VISA for 1 (one) year.

Depending on the type of visa is determined by its cost, period of validity, duration of stay.
