When it comes to kids' rooms, one should never underestimate the IKEA catalog. The POÄNG rocker is incredibly affordable, comes in a huge range of colors and its simple, modern lines are a great option for design-savvy, cost-conscious parents. Finding the perfect chair for the nursery turned out to be one of the most challenging items for the room.  I had a wish list: I wanted it to be comfortable, affordable, and stylish.  A lot to ask? We both figured if we're going to invest money in a chair it had to be something that we really liked and that worked with the rest of our home. We shopped around and soon I started to feel a bit like Goldilocks.  Not tall enough to support my head when I pass out from exhaustion... etc, etc.  Here's a look at what we found: The gorgeous Canadian made Monte Gliders.  I loved the style of these, really modern and clean lined. We tried out a few in store at Westcoast Kids and for the most part they were pretty comfortable, though I did find some of them to be a bit small in person.

All of these are in the $1000 plus range, eeeee. Monte Grano Glider Recliner A lot of people go with your standard Dutalier glider and, I must admit, these babies are comfortable. Unfortunately, they're just not our style and I can't justify spending even a few hundred dollars on a chair I didn't really like. Dutalier Anjou II Glider Little Castle Monaco Glider: I sat in this one at Finesse Kids and oh, baby was it comfortable! The problem, it was over $1200 (plus, if I got the piping I loved) and it took over 3 months to order in. Little Castle Monaco Glider There were a ton of other gorgeous options I found online, but I really wanted to be able to sit in the chair before I bought it and prices for shipping were turning out to be a bit steep. I am happy to say we did eventually find a winner! Enter the Karbon Swivel Glider from EQ3.  It bears a striking resemblance to the Monte Grano Recliner but at half the price.  Luckily, they had this chair in store at the Bay (did you know the Bay carries the EQ3 line?) so I could pop in and give it a try.

It's comfortable, stylish, matches our decor and, compared to the $1000+ options, relatively affordable. Here's a sneak peek of it in the room:We have been so busy around these parts with putting together rooms for our little girls. The first to be finished and ready to show off to you is Poppy's nursery. The room design started with a chance outing to the hardware store where I found a copy of  booklet. We hadn't even considered redoing the girl's spaces but the photos and ideas took me away to a happy place. I have such a fondness for design for kids and diy and this seemed the perfect mix. Poppy’s room used the  theme as a basis and developed from there. and instructions for the scalloping effect can be found on the Dulux site here. The monogram circle on the door is a wall sticker from 41 Orchard. The print inside the door is by the amazing Mara Girling from Print Space, an talented group of artists and designers based out of Melbourne. I think it makes the perfect keepsake for a baby.

The cot was bought for Piper to use by her Grandmother and has been passed along. Her {amazingly soft and luscious world's softest cotton} sheet is from Adairs. As is the Marrakesh Lattice black and white throw rug & the silver velvet cushion. {dresser} is from Ikea. Her change mat cover is from Eco Nino Nursery. Made using GOTS certified100% organic cotton jersey and super easy to launder {necessity!}. On the wall is a print Moon for Neil by Martin Krusche. The joining wall has the most amazing wall stickers by 41 Orchard. I chose to use the simple white clouds on the creamy white walls because I love that you have to look twice. They are the definition of whimsy to me. Paint〫 // Dulux Australia.
