two colours of yarn for 4 mm crochet hook 4 mm crochet hook Please note that names of the stitches in UK & US vary, this is UK pattern, click through for crochet stitches conversion chart. stitches used: chain (ch), slip stitch (ss), treble / triple crochet (tr), half treble (htr) Start with 5 ch, close the chain with ss to create a circle. ROUND 1 (FOUNDATION ROUND) To start the new round work 3 ch as first tr and then 11 more tr stitches, close round with ss. Start another colour without cutting of the first one. Work 3 ch for first tr, work 2 tr into each space between tr from previous rounds. ROUND 3 – 12 Change the colour of the yarn, work 3 ch and then tr into spaces between tr from previous round, now and then add additional tr into the same stitch to keep the circle flat. Work as many rounds as needed to make the circle almost as big as the top of the stool (it took me 12 tr rounds), first add additional tr quite often every 3 – 4 stitches to reduce it in final rounds to every 7 – 8 stitch.

ROUND 13 – 16 To start a new round work 2 ch for first htr and then htr in between each stitch from the previous round. Continue with the same colour for 2 rows, then change colour and work again 2 rounds of htr, finish with ss and fasten off. Use the same colour of yarn as the last row of the cover. To make a string start with 5 ch, close the circle with ss, work 2 ch for first htr and then work 9 more htr into the circle to create the ring, close with ss. Straight from the ring work 150 ch, close with ss stitch, leave enough yarn to create another circle and cut of the yarn. Thread the string around the edge of the cover, then repeat the steps to create another ring on the other end of the string… this way the string is secure in the cover without possibility that the kids will pull it out. April 27, 2013   Subscribe We are making a rare trip to IKEA tomorrow in part to get a table and chairs for our one-year old. What are other IKEA items that we should look at for him? The last time we braved IKEA, Young Master Xalf was just three months old. I was impressed by the selection in the kids section, but that was a while ago and I didn't have the perspective I have now that he's one.

So, what are your favorite things for kids from IKEA? I'm willing to consider anything they sell: furniture, toys, meatballs, etc. I put ages one to three in the title because I hope to not go back for at least a year or two. It comes after the deaths of two boys who were killed after being crushed by pieces from IKEA's Malm range in West Chester, New York, and Snohomish, Washington, last year. IKEA has issued a warning to customers who bought freestanding chests of drawers to have them anchored to the wall. It comes after two toddlers were killed by items from its Malm range (above) in separate tragedies The wall-anchoring kits can be collected in-store or ordered online as part of the safety campaign launched yesterday. 'Product safety is the highest priority for IKEA and IKEA chests and dressers are safe when attached to the wall as directed in the assembly instructions,' a spokesman said.'The best way to help prevent furniture tip over accidents is to secure furniture to the wall. IKEA urges customers to inspect their IKEA chests of drawers and dressers to ensure that they are securely anchored to the wall.'The launch of the safety campaign comes after two-year-old Curren Collas died when a six-drawer MALM chest fell on him and pinned him to a bed back in February 2014.Curren's mother, Jackie, has campaigned tirelessly to raise awareness of the dangers of falling furniture.

Customers around the world have been reminded they have access to a wall-anchoring kit for IKEA's MALM range. It comes after the death of Curren Collas (above with his mother, Jackie) in the U.S.On the morning of February 24 last year, Ms Collas went into Curren's bedroom to dress him and discovered the toddler's dresser had completely overturned. His body was lying under it. His head was trapped between the edge of the bed and all of the weight of the dresser was laying across his neck,' the distraught mother wrote on a dedicated Facebook page.'I tried ripping the dresser off of him. It took me a couple of tries to pick it up. I tried to pick him up like I normally do, but his little body and neck was so floppy.'Three months later, a 23-month-old child from Snohomish, Washington, was killed when a three-drawer chest also crushed him. In the U.S., IKEA and the consumer panel have gotten 14 reports of tipover accidents involving MALM chests, resulting in four injuries. Curren's mother, Jackie (pictured with him), has tirelessly campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of falling furniture
