Ikea recalls faulty highchair after child is injured in fall Ikea has issued an urgent recall of a popular highchair after a child suffered bruising in a fall.The 'Leopard' chair has faulty locks securing the seat to the frame of the unit, which has resulted in at least one child falling through the frame and injuring their legs.The snap locks themselves have also been found to be a choking hazard. Ikea has called for all who have purchased the chair to return it for a full refund. Unsafe: The Leopard chair has been recalled by Ikea The retailer has also searched through its files to identify as many customers who bought the chair as possible, including those whose purchase record is held as part of a rewards scheme program.An Ikea spokesperson said: 'Ikea has received 11 reports of broken snap locks, including one incident where the seat with child dropped through the frame. The child suffered bruised legs.'In a second incident, a detached snap lock was found in a child's mouth but was removed before choking occurred.'No further incidents or injuries have been reported.




We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.'While the chairs were manufactured and tested according to European and UK safety guidelines, production has been suspended pending an investigation.
