FREE 5 spend at IkeaIf you're an Ikea Family card member, check your email around your birthday to see if you've a coupon for £5 off with no minimum spend, valid for 28 days. The subject line may be something like 'A £5 Birthday treat from Ikea Family'. How do I get the coupon? The email will tell you if a coupon has been added to your account, but you’ll need to go in store to actually print it out from a machine. We can’t say for sure whether every Ikea Family member will get the birthday offer (depending on when they signed up), so think of it as a bonus rather than guaranteed. See Ikea for full coupon T&Cs. FREE cup of tea or coffee at Ikea When you shop in store at Ikea (find your nearest), you can get a free cup of tea or coffee when you swipe an Ikea Family card at the in-store restaurant.

Ikea Family is just the name of its free loyalty card scheme. You can sign up online or in store. You can get it anytime Monday to Friday, but not at weekends, and Ikea says you'll only need one Ikea Family card to get free drinks for everyone you're with. But of course, staff may raise an eyebrow if you turn up with a coach-load all wanting the freebie. Ikea offers - Check your local storeMost of Ikea's discounts are specific to each store, but you can check what offers your local store is running when you visit the Swedish retailer's site. Find your nearest Ikea in the list below and click through to see current deals: Ikea FamilyIf you sign up for a free Ikea Family card you'll get extra discounts, offers and freebies in store. What are the main benefits of signing up? Reduced prices on selected 'Family' lines Extra 10% discount on sale items More info When you sign up online you'll then be able to print a temporary Ikea Family membership card to use until you get your actual card.

You can also apply for the membership in store, but again you'll be given a temporary card before the actual one is mailed to you. Each local store has slightly different Ikea Family offers to check yours, look on your local Ikea stores, select which one you want and click on the 'Ikea Family' link on the left hand side. This will show you what offers that store currently has on for Ikea Family members. Ikea free electric car charging If you drive an electric car, when you visit an Ikea store (find your nearest) you can make use of free electric vehicle charging facilities while you shop. There are multiple charging stations found in the car park of each of its UK stores. Ikea reckons its 'rapid-charging' units can recharge an electric vehicle, such as a Nissan Leaf or Mitsubishi Outlander, from empty to full within half an hour. It's totally free to use - just drive up to any available charger and plug in. Ikea 'January sale'Website: Ikea Find your nearest: store locator

Ikea buy 25 Xmas tree and get 20 voucherMoneySavers wait for this one every year as it's a tree-mendous way to make a big Christmas saving. If you buy a £25 real Christmas tree from your nearest Ikea, you'll be given a £20 voucher to spend at any participating store between Mon 16 Jan and Sun 12 Feb next year. Officially, it's on until Fri 23 Dec, but if previous years are anything to go by, this'll be very popular - so go quick if you want one. The only stores not participating are Ikea Cardiff and the collection points in Birmingham and Stratford. The trees are all of the same variety (Abies Nordmanniana) and Ikea says they're about 170cm (5ft 7in) tall, but do vary in size.

There's no delivery option, so think about how you'll get it home. More info You can spend your voucher in any department in store, but not online, in the restaurant/bistro or food market. 5 off at Ikea?If you're an Ikea Family card member, check your email to see if you've a coupon for £5 off with no minimum spend, valid until Sun 20 Nov. The subject line may be about Ikea's 'Swipe a Surprise' prize draw which you can also take part in when using the coupon. The email will tell you if a coupon has been added to your account, but you’ll need to go in store to actually print it out from a machine. When we checked, we were able to scan our Ikea card at the Ikea Family kiosk in store, log in and select 'print coupons' - any coupons on your account should show up. Then pick the £5 off coupon and select 'print'. When you check out, hand the coupon and your card over at the till to get the discount. We bought one £2 item and one £3 item, which were both free with the coupon.

We also won a free doughnut in Ikea's 'Swipe a Surprise' prize draw! I've not got a coupon? We can’t say for sure whether every Ikea Family member will have been sent this, so think of it as a bonus rather than guaranteed. If you've not got this coupon, don't worry - we've also seen similar £5 off coupons sent to Ikea Family members for their birthday. If you like a good deal but braving Ikea at the weekend isn't an option, we found most Ikea stores are open until around 9pm in the evening, so it might be better to pop in after work to print your coupon to avoid the queues. Free family fun at IkeaTraipsing around Ikea may not be everyone’s idea of a fun family day out, but its stores are putting on a number of free summer activities for kids throughout the summer. You might need a free 'Ikea Family' card to get involved in some activities, but you can sign up for a temporary paper card in store if you don't already have one. Activities vary by location, but fun, free activities we found include:

Nottingham - free treasure hunt, outdoor play area, fun crafts throughout August. Milton Keynes - free face painting, Mon & Tue throughout August. Southampton - free treasure hunt, play area, arts and crafts weekdays until Fri 2 Sep. Manchester - free play area, treasure hunt (Mon/Tue), food activity (Tue/Wed), textile activity (Thu) and craft activity (Fri) all from 12pm-4pm. Edinburgh - free play area, free 'Make Mess Matter' activity Fri 19 Aug. Birmingham - free face painting, arts and crafts, treasure hunt, balloon modeller, treasure hunt, magician weekdays (face painting only at weekends) from 11am-4pm until Sun 4 Sep. Even if your store doesn't list activities online (or if they've not been updated), it's worth giving them a ring to ask whether they've at least got a creche or play area if you've something to buy from Ikea anyway. If you’re going to Ikea in the week... You'll also nab a free cuppa on weekdays with the 'Ikea Family' card, so it's not just the kids who benefit.
