So Cozy: Sheepskin Dining Chair Covers (Image credit: Heather Blaha) "I adore plants and I love entertaining," says Eva in this recent Apartment Therapy House Tour. "I want my guests to feel at home in my little tree house." We'd definitely feel right at home in this lovely kitchen. Imagine sipping tea while cozied up in those sheepskin-covered dining chairs! The chairs are Umbra's Oh Chairs, which Eva says are "very comfortable with the sheep skins," while the dining table was a Craigslist find. It must be so nice to sit at this table and enjoy the warm sunlight streaming in from those windows! Follow IKEA USA on:The day is finally here! Our little dining nook is filled and decorated and has a purpose. Last week I left you in suspense with these bare Ikea chairs that needed a little something to help them fit in with the new table… But $90 per chair was out of the budget. And we already had two of the Borje chairs from our old house, so we decided to get 2 more, add some inexpensive slipcovers and call it a day. Well, after months of sitting in the garage, here’s how they looked on a chair… Sidenote: This stuff is expensive! Over $50 for this piece!(Image credit: Standard Studio) The mix and match dining set is a great look. It can be seen across many different interior styles — Scandinavian, modern, bohemian, eclectic, etc. It does, however, take a bit of thought and planning to pull it off, because you can't just order one up from the store. In many cases it's also a very budget friendly option, because you can use either dated, thrifted or random chairs you have around to create a look.

There really are endless possibilities between mixing colors, sizes, styles, textures, etc, but here are 10 suggestions to help guide you in pulling this look together. Standard Studio / Nest (Image credit: Melissa DiRenzo) Getting the same chair but in different colors is probably the easiest way to pull off this look. This way there's consistency with the shapes, materials, and styles, and you get to experiment with the color palette. A budget friendly option is to find random chairs that you like and then paint them all white or black (or really any color you like) to create a random but uniform look. SF Girl by Bay / Design Sponge If you just want to mix it up just a bit, try adding a pop of color or interest by using different accent chairs on the ends. You can make them either complement or contrast with the rest of the set. This is a great way to take advantage of sample sale or last call chairs that are missing a full set. Livet Hemma (IKEA) / Rum Hemma

If color isn't your thing but you want the eclectic dining look, stick with neutrals. White, black, metals and woods are a good idea either on their own or mixed together. 101 Woonideeen / My Scandinavian Home Another budget friendly tip if you want color but don't want to go totally crazy is to round up some chairs and paint them in the same color family. La Dolce Vita / Domino magazine via The House That Lars built Similar to the accent chairs on the end, you can mix things up and create a dramatic contrast between modern and traditional by adding a slick modern chair to your traditional set. Sunset / Vickie Howell If you're up for a little DIY project, you can make your dining chairs either similar or different by changing the upholstery on the seat. You can take a matching set and make each seat different, or you can take some mismatched chairs and use the same fabric to tie them together. This is also a budget friendly way to update an outdated set.

La Maison d'Anna G (Image credit: La Maison d'Anna G) And of course, there is the very common and much loved totally random way of styling a mixed dining set. Unfortunately, it's tough to explain how to get this style. Sorry folks — you just have to have that magic eye for mixing and matching different shapes, styles, colors, and textures. But when it's done right, it's definitely my favorite. There's tons of inspiration on Apartment Therapy to study and try and find that magic combo. We’ve already discussed lot of fantastic IKEA hacks for every home, and today I’d like to share some ideas for dining rooms or zones. The focal point of any dining space is a dining table, of course, so pay your attention to IKEA tables and ways to personalize them. A dining stool or a chair is also needed for a dining zone, so hack a couple painting or covering the chairs somehow. Buffets and chests are a must for every dining room to store some dinnerware, so make a beautiful floating credenza or buffet.
