Preferred Qualifications
Within Oracle Consulting, our architects own the architectural design of Oracle solutions for prospective and existing customers. The same team also works on the development of ‘go to market solutions’ for market place. These are senior roles to act as the link between Oracle sales and delivery teams in the Consulting organisation.
The IAAS Architect ensures solution feasibility and mitigates risk by leveraging a network of subject matter experts in the various domains. The IAAS Architect is also capable of proposing customer roadmaps to realise the proposed solution.
Currently a need exists for an experienced IAAS Architect with a focus on technical architecture and design across all disciplines of platform delivery. Oracle product and solution knowledge is desirable but not essential.
The IAAS Architect is responsible for designing, developing and supporting solutions leveraging the latest versions of Oracle IAAS Cloud:
· Reports to the country IAAS Leader
· Works on client-billable and pre-sales assignments to lead the solution development
· Works with sales and delivery to ensure solutions are both sellable and deliverable to a profit
We are looking for architects capable of leading compelling solution development with clients on their cloud strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Translates business goals into appropriate HR solutions while assessing feasibility and optimization of the solution for our customers
· Cultivates and demonstrates thorough IAAS business process knowledge. Proactively identify process improvements including clear and focused solutions
· Develops proofs of concept to demonstrate proposed technical solutions as required
· Provides guidance in the definition of solution design practices and standards that link back to Oracle Modern Best Practices
· Will act as HR trusted advisor for our customers
o To develop compelling, profitable and realistic customer solutions
o To be commercially astute when engaging and advising a customer
o To bring leadership to customer and Oracle interactions
o To act as ambassadors for Oracle application solutions throughout a customer engagement
· Develops and maintains working relationships with a diverse group of business, functional and technical teams
· Demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex solutions to different stakeholders, demonstrate smart design techniques and mentor other team members.
· Work closely with client, sales, pre-sales and delivery staff to develop a robust architecture
· Take full ownership of “best practices” in the IAAS area, covering the whole strategic footprint
· Develop strong relationships with the product lines and in co-operation with the Delivery Management teams, advise on competency requirements
· Take full accountability for the architectural solution of a pre-sales opportunity or project
· Form and maintain strong relationships with colleagues in product development
· Manage the re-use and knowledge management of their competency area
· Provide sales awareness to the sales and delivery community within Oracle Consulting
· Engage profitably with counterparts from other parts of the EMEA region
REQUIREMENTS:
• Application-savvy technical expert with experience in a variety of enterprise cloud computing technologies that can advise, lead and deliver the benefits of cloud to some of the most demanding enterprise customers in the world.
• Experience designing, deploying and migrating software & computing infrastructure solutions that span a variety of technologies (i.e. storage, networking, compute, applications, middleware, security)
• A deep passion for technology, a love of learning new things and helping customers succeed
• Comfortable operating in a fast paced environment that’s constantly evolving and changing
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
A proven track record of success developing and deploying creative technical solutions to business problems for or within large enterprise organizations
Excellent ability to inspire & engage customers
• Advisory, Vision, Journey, Architecture, Roadmaps, Delivery & leadership
• Sr IT/LOB/C-Level Engagement & influence
• Exceptional customer engagement skills throughout a customers’ journey
A demonstrable record of delivering transformative cloud solutions
• Workload / Application migration to private or public cloud
• Knowledge of SDLC and IT frameworks like ITIL, TOGAF, Agile, ELMO
• Deep IaaS business transformation, delivery & optimization expertise Public , Private & Hybrid Cloud
• Experience with Infrastructure architectural design; Compute, storage & network design concepts. Bare metal, Hypervisors, HA, HP Storage, Clustering, HPC, Reporting, Back up & Disaster Recovery; Cloud Native Development and/or integration, PaaS & iPaaS, “DevOps”, “No Ops”, “Agile” and more
• Experience in Middleware Infrastructure (application servers, technical architecture, SOA, application integration, clustering/configurations)
• Experience in Applications Infrastructure (databases, application migrations, configurations)
• Particular interest in Cyber Security/InfoSec; Compliance; Network Infrastructure
