Characters:

Team.

All 4 founders came from academic environment and received PhD degrees in Computer Science at American universities. Everyone has working experience in the largest teams of California such as: Google, Intel, middle strong companies like Veriflow, Barefoot Networks. The team is strong as a whole, all members are engineers with great profile experience.

1. Dr. Mo Dong - 440 contacts. He received a PhD degree in Computer Science at the middle University in Illinois. He was a design engineer and a product manager at Veriflow (middle American company). He is an expert in application of algorithmic theory of games for protocol design. Dr. Dong led project revolutionizing Internet TCP and improved cross-continental data transfer speed by 10X to 100X with non-regret learning algorithms. His work was published in top conferences, won Internet2 Innovative Application Award and being adopted by major Internet content and service providers. Dr. Dong was a founding engineer and product manager at Veriflow, a startup specializes in network formal verification. The formal verification algorithms he developed is protecting networking security for fortune 50 companies. Dr. Dong is also experienced in applying Algorithmic Game Theory, especially auction theory, to computer system protocol designs. He has been teaching full-stack smart contract courses. He produces technical blogs and videos on blockchain with over 7000 subscribers.

2. Dr. Junda Liu - 306 contacts. Dr. Junda Liu received his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, advised by Prof. Scott Shenker. He was the first to propose and develop DAG based routing to achieve nanosecond network recovery (1000x improvement over state of art). Dr. Liu joined Google in 2011 to apply his pioneer research to Google’s global infrastructure. As the tech lead, he developed a dynamic datacenter topology capable of 1000 terabit/s bisection bandwidth and interconnecting more than 1 million nodes. In 2014, Dr. Liu became a founding member of Project Fi (Google’s innovative mobile service). He was the tech lead for seamless carrier switching, and oversaw Fi from a concept to a $100M+/year business within 2 years. He was also the Android Tech Lead for carrier services, which run on more than 1.5B devices. Dr. Liu holds 6 US patents and published numerous papers in top conferences. He received BS and MS from Tsinghua University.

Advisors.

Advisors came from academic environment: all of them have better regalia than the team members

Dr. Christos Kozyrakis – Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Stanford University, Professor of Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Member of ACM and IEEE (these are the latest prestige academic computer associations in the USA). His most interest are safe and energy-efficient distribution systems.

Alan Mishchenko – a Researcher at UC Berkeley since 2002. He creates quick and scaled instruments for designing automation and development of numerical efficiency methods of logical synthesis and formal check. He graduated from Moscow University of Physics and Technology in 1993. He started to work at Berkeley in 2002.

Dr. Shoucheng Zhang – Professor of Physics at Stanford University, a Member of Americal Academy of Sciences and Nathoial Academy of Sciences of the USA. He founded the Danhua Capital in 2013, and is its Chairman.

Partners / investors.

They have a great partnership. Pantera, DHVC and FBG Capital are already “on board”. This seems to be an incomplete list, but strong funds are already in the project. They have a partnership with QTUM, Celer platform will be completely compatible with this blockchain network.

Technologies and idea:

WP.

The platform, which may be an add-on of the existing or future blockchains and which will allow to add offchain solutions.

It needs several add-ons:

-cChannel – lower layer, interacting with lower blockchains and upper layers, providing them with current data. Offchain contracts, generation of offchain transactions, state exchange.

-сRoute – value transmission layer.

-сOS – framework for Dapps design.

Token economics is standard. It is generally accepted that the network will not be functioning without token value, because its participants will have no motivation to support the functioning of the network.

Onchain locking of tokens is required for value transmission in offchain.

They offer their innovations:

- PoLC – the process of virtual mining by locking their own actives. It means that thereby increased liquidity will be created (as I understood, this is something like a liquidity pool).

- LiBA – the process of lending the liquidity from the crowd to the service providers. The more tokens the network participant gives, the better priority their tokens will have for lending and more authority they will have.

- SGN – the system of controlling the state of balances of the network participants when someone is offline. You should lock the tokens to be a “guard”.

WP describes interactions of onchain and offchain state of network and mechanisms of withdrawal of actives from offchain in various situations. It foresees side-chain solutions, where the users may froze their means on a smart-contract and carry out slidechain calculations where blocks will be produced by the third party.

In total, the WP is rather detailed: their model is mathematically justified, they have simulation reports, capacious explanations of the above listed technologies, formulas, explanations. It makes a good impression.

The information about the metrics:

- 30%: mining and design of offchain ecosystem

- 30%: all sales

- 20%: the team and advisers with 2 years of vesting

- 20%: reserve with 2 years of vesting

MVP.

They have an MVP (video), which shows the transactions from the network ETH to the network Celer with a mobile application, and a decentralised game work.

GitHub.

They have it, but they say that the whole code has not been released yet.

A released code consists of 1 repository with only 8 commits on JavaScript and two contributors. A released code is a binding of Celer Network to the Ethereum network with smart-contracts. A powerful functional is announced: from the support of ERC20 tokens to a compulsory withdrawal of own assets in case of force-majeure.

I found a dialog with the admin in their chat: a community participant is upset because the code is small, he asked about it a month ago, they told him to wait and he still waits.

Summary:

The team, advisors and funds are on a relatively high level, the metrics are adequate, they solve urgent problem.

They have MVP, good and detailed WP (with formulas and mathematical substantiation of the model).

Of course, I would like to see more code, but the Telegramm admins promise that the code will be more publicly accessible quite soon.

This project seems to be one of the leaders in this season.
