Frank Fang.
Almost 4 years he worked as a senior engineer in Pinterest, almost 3 years – in XingCloud (Beijing, 20 employees according to Linkedin; the company works at the solutions for E-Commerce). According to the website, he works as a specialist in cryptooperation algorithms and distribution systems. San Francisco.

Baron Gong.
ICM Outstanding Winner. This status means the win in mathematical modelling in the USA – it is held since 1983: competition is between the university teams, each of which has 3 persons. This status is received only by 0.5% of participants. Chinese websites call him an expert in blockchain and cryptooperation economics. He was a manager of a fund with 100 mln USD.

Yijia Zhang.
He has been a Google software engineer for 5 years. Previously he had worked in IBM for 6 months. San Francisco.

Weiran Liu.
Doctor in Cryptography in Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He is famous by his presence on Zhihu (like Quora, but it is Chineese and the largest one).

Hong Chai.
He worked in marketing for various IT companies (Sohy – its trades are on Nasdaq). He also used to work as a vice president in small media companies.

Sonya Wang.
Specialist in financial media, insurance and internet technologies. Beijing.

The team members, who have Linkedin pages, are listed as Core Contributors of the project, without any variety of positions. Everyone have a proper education.

Shuoji Zhou
He works as the associate founder of the fund FBG Capital since September 2015. Previously he worked as a chief sales consultant in Oracle (Beijing) for 2 years and 10 months. He also worked as an IT specialist in IBM (Beijing) for 4 years and 10 months. He also works as an adviser for district0x and blox.

Howard Wu.
Since 2017 he has been working as an associate founder of Dekrypt Capital. It is a young investment company, whose headquarters are in California. The centre of its investigations are infrastructure blockchain projects, which invested in Libra Credit and Nervos. Since 2016 he also works as an adviser in Blockchain at Berkley (university ecosystem for blockchain, educational structure). For a year he worked as a software engineer at Google.

Investors:

The website tells us that 24 organizations had invested in this project. The most interesting are the generally acknowledged Polychain Capital, FBG Capital, Zhen Fund and Neo Global Capital, Kenetic and Signum Capital. The rest funds have no strong blockchain background.


Technologies and idea

WP.

Create the decentralized platform for applications, which will save the privacy of the user’s data (including transactions). All data, which will be inputted off-chain, will be encrypted with further delivery to the platform, where decryption and launch of application are held on-chain. Designers may write the applications in original, and Origio-Privacy-Presrving-application-platform (PAPP) will automatically compile everything into the system. 

The example, why they don’t use the Ethereum, is given.

Two people play the “rock, paper, scissors” game. The second part can easily foresee the choice of their opponent, because all information is opened and it is easy to win. You can send the hashes and it may cover your choice. But finally, the whole blockchain can easily know the “game players” and their deeds (this data can not be hided). ZCASH & Monero solved this problem for transactions, but they have no solving for Dapp. That’s why Origio is needed for the situations, when applications and users need privacy.

The process which uses the Origio 3 platform, has three stages:

-commit (tokens are frozen and private data are sent);

-execute (contract is fulfilled offline and zero knowledge proof is created);

- settle (verification and record of transaction). Thereby everything is anonymous.

The protocol involves three elements-participants:

-users who give the data and bring the smart contracts;

-blockchain for transactions;

-executors “make easy” and give the results of calculations according to the smart contracts.

Two blockchains will be used for anonymity of transactions: public & private. Coins will be converted in "private" mode, and all further operations will be held in the private blockchain mode. They may be converted back in public mode in future.

Token. First ERC-20, than in September 2019 swap for its own 1 to 1. It is used for commission pays and payments, staking during the work in Executor or Validator (mining or computational power assignment), and for awards for some “good deeds” or burning for bad behaviour.

Blockchain. pBFT consensus protocol will be used for transactions (it is used when there is not so many nodes; each has its own solution and consensus is reached by a majority vote) with random choice of note for voting.

Sharding. There will be two types of it. The first is the Computation sharding, which will break the computations by the randomly chosen nodes. The second is State sharding – the sharding of both blocks. This is a second stage, which has much more problems. Under research.

Virtual Machine will be based on the currently popular standard WASM. Everything is on С++ so far, but Python & Java will be implemented in future.

The examples of applications on Origio: private stock, scoring models of crediting, lending and insurances on blockchain, supply chain management.

RoadMap:

- 2018 December: testnet with private transactions and smartcontracts 

- 2019 September: swap ERC-20 on Origion Token 1 to 1

- 2019 December: private smart contracts

- 2020 June: users may create their own smart contracts.

MVP Nowadays, team works on the Testnet and invites people to the team.

Github: Github of the project looks abandoned. It has 4 repositories, and the latest updates were a year ago (March 2017).


Additions/conclusions/opinions

This team has people with experience of blockchain industry. I really liked the fact that they didn’t start to blow up the advisor team – only 2 people, all came here from the funds, invested in this project.

I have no questions about the funds theirself – the whole variety from the top once to lesser famous.

Token economics is super-basic, nothing unnecessary.

WP is very qualitative: it gives answers for all questions without any vapidity and with good argumentation. Every detail of the platform is chewed over. There are no questions.

The project gathered the organic hype very quickly – for two weeks simply. Communication in Telegram is substantial: people talk, ask questions and receive answers.

I see, perhaps, the only disadvantage: 3% for the sale community. But the most hype projects with allocation for community always have many problems.

Not in a shy way: it is one of the most interesting projects of this summer.
