HTMLCOIN (Tag HTML)

HTMLCOIN (HTML5) came up at the time when Ethereum became popular but was the target of a 51% attack resulting in a huge loss for the exchange-platforms yobit and bleutrade. The hacker stole over 8 billion coins and even though the weakness of the code could be detected, the old dev-team was not able or had no interest in fixing it. The price dropped to 1 Sat, most investor left with huge loss or forgot their coins.

Till 2017 when a new dev team took over HTMLCOIN and founded the HTMLCOIN Foundation located in Chicago, USA. They want to renew this coin and bring it back to life. Its no ICO, so the team consists of volunteers. I will explain the team in an extra subpart.

The main target of this blockchain project is to introduce a platform which can link between jobseeker/freelancer, industry and governmental authorities. The necessary tools will be provided by the HTMLCOIN.BUSINESS platform which will offer opportunities for payment, data storage, an e-learning platform, a verification system to proof the skills of freelancers and some sort of “webshop” for each participant. Their first approach with this is their “Proof of Mass Adoption” (POMA) which will enter the beta phase in Q1 2018 and the final stage in Q2 2018. As this coin is a fork of QTUM, ICO’s can be realised with the htmlcoin blockchain.

As this was more the utilization, I want to point out some technical updates for the future. As a QTUM fork, HTMLCOIN is a Bitcoin/Ethereum Hybrid. An own explorer and miner is planned for the near future, which will finally deliver the basic tools of a blockchain. Furthermore, mobile wallet is planned for Q1. Lightning Network and masternodes are in talk and their implementation depends on how QTUM will handle these things.

As the main target is the implementation of this business platform, tech developments cannot be expected. HTMLCOIN and QTUM dev teams are cooperating so whenever they develop something, HTMLCOIN will help debugging and testing and afterwards implement the same feature. This will ensure this project is up to date.

As this is no ICO, the team consists of volunteers which are not paid. I will only point out 2 important people:

Simon

Member of the core team of McAfee coin and CTO of CGI UK. Has a lot of knowledge in this section, good links to other projects. I talked to him and he has a lot of plans. He is the real leader behind the scene.

Peter Bushnell

If you don’t know him, he is the dev and creator of Feathercoin. Brilliant dev, is working for a lot of coins. For example, UFO Coin payed him to do some upgrades for this project and this coin went from a dead coin to 30Sat in only few days. He is getting paid by the HTMLCOIN Foundation to maintain the project and provide upgrades.

  • Bitcoin/Ethereum Hybrid
  • Realtime Checkpointing to protect the blockchain against 51% attacks
  • PoW/PoS(1%)
  • DSHA256
  • Total supply after end of PoW in 25(?) years: 90Billion coins
  • Current Coins in Circulation: ~40Billion
  • Premined (~9billion coins) in order to pay dev/PR/exchange fees

They swapped from the old HTML5 to the new HTML-blockchain. Yobit blocked the swap but the dev team was able to swap a lot of coins manually, finally they enabled withdrawing again due to the pressure of the HTMLCOIN team. Currently, bleutrade is the most trustworthy exchange to buy the new coin. They already applied for other exchanges.

Considering the current state and price, the community is already quite big. Telegram group consists of over 4000 people if you compare this to other low volume coins, its huge.

Price went up after Yobit-Block was solved and swap could be performed using the manual swap form

The volume increased from less than 1 BTC/24h to now 140BTC with a spike of 360BTC before P.O.M.A press release. A lot of whales entered the market which is currently dominated by big coin bag holders. I expect a lot of selling for the next days, as those people bought at 1 Sat or less (with Dogecoin) and are now selling for profit. Current price is 10Sat, with more attention due to additional exchanges and news 20Sat in midterm and 50Sat in long term is possible. In my opinion, it’s a solid low volume low price project which can be entered at the current state with a medium amount of risk.
