If you have just purchased a swinging screen door from A to Z, congratulations! It is manufactured from heavy-duty extruded aluminum and built for years of use. The following tips will help you get the most from your new swinging screen door, and ensure you enjoy a bug-free breeze for many years: Remember that your swinging screen door is a screen door, not a Sherman tank! Do not allow children or pets to push against or jump up on the screen fabric! Your screen door carries no warranty against abuse. When opening the screen door, use the handle! Do not open the screen door by pushing directly on the fabric. This may cause the fabric to rip, tear, stretch, or separate from the frame. Your children may need some coaching in this area. To clean, use a damp, clean cloth and gently wipe the screen fabric and frame clean, rinsing and re-wetting your cloth often. Lubricate your screen door’s hinges with high-quality silicone spray regularly (every 1-2 months). A can of silicone spray can be purchased at any major hardware store on the same shelf as WD-40.

Avoid using oil or WD-40 as this will create a greasy mess and may damage the paint finish. Adjust your pneumatic screen door closer as necessary. The pneumatic door closer that was installed with your screen door contains a special hydraulic oil which will become thicker with cold winter weather, and thinner with hot summer weather. In order to keep your door shutting at an acceptable speed, you may need to adjust the speed adjustment screw on your door closer on occasion. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, you can slow the door by turning the screw to the right, or increase the closing speed by turning the adjustment screw to the left. When you see the available screen door styles, you’ll be rushing to order a new custom-fit swinging screen door from A to Z for your home. I always wanted a piece of Star Trek and the Disney Monorail in my house, and one thing they have in common is that they both have automatic sliding doors. It would be the perfect, most geek-ified entryway for my bedroom.

Edit:  Not every detail is included in this Instructable.  I did the best I could using pictures I had taken 4 years ago.  To be acceptable as a permanent renovation to our house, I knew the door had to have a normal appearance, as well as be practical and maintenance free. To reduce the number of moving parts (and maybe for a little coolness factor) I decided to make the door air-powered. The air would be supplied by a small compressor and storage tank located in the attic. In order to open and close from the inside and out, the door needed a little bit of brainpower. I decided to use a small PIC microcontroller, my platform of choice still to this day. Arduino didn't exist back then. With a rough plan in my head, I drew a quick CAD model of the door and the brackets that would connect the pistons to the door halves. I was ready to start purchasing parts.Step 1: Buy Parts / Tear Out WallShow All Items« PreviousNext »View All Steps DownloadCost to Install a Door CloserUpdated: January 2017

FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) – There is still little information about the cause of death of a young Farmington Hills woman whose body was found on top of a Home Depot store in Commerce Township. A representative for the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office said an autopsy performed Friday morning on 23-year-old Elizabeth Hock, who’d been missing for a week, found no evidence of foul play. Her cause of death is listed as “pending toxicology results.” Authorities said it appeared Hock had been dead for several days when she was discovered Thursday on the roof of the home improvement store in the Commerce Crossing Shopping Center, at 14 Mile and Haggerty Road. It’s still a mystery how and why she was up there, but police have said her death is not being considered suspicious. Hock’s family last saw her alive on Tuesday, Sept. 6. Her sister, Emilie, said she last spoke with her sister that night and began to become concerned when Hock didn’t return her texts or calls in the following days.
