Wheelchair and special seating service The wheelchair service provides a range of wheelchairs to individuals requiring a long term wheelchair for their mobility needs. The service prescribe wheelchairs to assist a person’s mobility when walking is difficult, impossible or detrimental to their health. Wheelchairs are available to people of all ages with long term mobility needs, who require a wheelchair for both indoor and outdoor use. The service conducts an assessment of mobility needs and prescribes the most suitable long term wheelchair. Pressure cushions and postural support will also be provided to those who are wheelchair dependant. Where necessary, our wheelchair service also offers care and maintenance for NHS prescribed wheelchairs. Where a specialist seat that requires individual moulding the service is able to assess, manufacture and provide.
