Standing work stations may benefit some individuals. However, don’t trade sitting all day for standing all day. Being static in any posture can cause discomfort. To minimize discomfort, it’s best to move & stretch for at least 2 minutes every hour whether you’re sitting or standing. If you plan to use a standing work station, make sure you wear proper foot attire since you’ll need the extra support if you plan to stand more during your workday. Two options that have been used to successfully convert existing desks to standing work stations are the Ergotron and the Varidesk.
