It's designed to keep one person perfectly comfortable throughout the night. Full ChiliPad - $649.00 USD The ChiliPad™ Cube is a mattress pad with a cooling and heating temperature control system. It regulates the surface temperature of your mattress by actively circulating water through a network of micro tubes. The mattress pad comes in Single and Dual Zone. The Single Zone has one Cube and cools or warms the bedding surface for one person. The Dual Zone Cube has Dual Temperature Zones on larger beds with 2 Cubes, so the two sides can have different sleep temperatures.
The result is the perfect temperature to doze off and get the rest you need to tackle the rest of your day. Your best night’s sleep is a few degrees away! ChiliPad™ Cube is a cooling mattress pad that also heats. It regulates the surface temperature of your mattress so that you sleep comfortably all night long. Designed to fit all standard and extra thick mattresses, this unique 150 thread count, poly-cotton cooling mattress pad uses soft medical grade silicone tubing to circulate regular water through the pad. A built in connection tube (96″ in length) connects the pad to the Cube. Dual-zone, dual temperature ChiliPads™ have separate tubing and independent control units for each side creating a dual temperature zone. Control the temperature with the touch of a button, either directly on the control unit or conveniently in bed with the wireless remote control. The Cube cools or warms the water to your set temperature and circulates it through the pad, generally achieving temperatures well below a cool 55 F and easily above a very warm 110 F.
A thermostat maintains the set temperature, letting you sleep at your ideal temperature throughout the night. I saw on another part of mdjunction where some people said they were using the heated mattress pads from walmart. They fit on the bed like a sheet, but are heated. I was concerned about the wires in them...if there are wires...hurting underneath me, but I read the reviews on walmart and saw that someone said the quilted kind of heated mattress pad doesn't feel like that (there were 2 on the website) both made by sunbeam. I have an electric blanket on my bed and an electric throw by the computer that John got me for Christmas...heat always makes my body feel better...so does anyone use one? I never heard of the heated matress pad and I would have the same questions you have. I do use an electric blanket. I have a love/hate relationship with my electric blanket, haha, I love it when I am cold and it feels so good to climb into that warm bed... awwwww BUT when I wake up in the middle of the night having a hot flash I swing that blanket off me so fast! I hate the thing then!!!
I am having bad hot flashes again, no clue why!If you or anyone finds out more about them , please share. I am curious too. Well, my mom bought the heated mattress pad for me for an early birthday present (birthday isn't until April). If I had it shipped to my house, it would have been 12 extra dollars, so I did site to store shipping and that made the shipping free. I had to list 2 pick up people on the order and when it is picked up, I have to bring the printout with the order number, etc. and bring an ID. I ordered it on Feb. 3rd and it arrived in store on Feb. 11th. They were supposed to email me, but I never got any email. and it said it arrived at the store on Feb. 11th. I was worried that they would give me trouble since I didn't have the email to print out, but I printed the details from my account and John took the form this morning along with his ID and picked it up. I am going to send a customer complaint to walmart and tell them that I never received an email that my order was ready.
With tax, the queen sized one was $130. The queen and king size have dual controls which helps if you have a spouse who burns up like John does, while I freeze! We keep our room cold in the summer with our window a/c, so I think this will even be helpful for my pain during the hot months. I know that the warmth helps me as warm baths help and I have an electric blanket on my bed which helps and an electric blanket at my computer which I have on me when I am sitting here. I also turn on the seat warmers in the car and it helps my back while I am driving. So...after reading the reviews, I bought the Sunbeam quilted one because the reviews said that you couldn't feel the wires on this one as opposed to another cheaper Sunbeam one at Walmart. and type in "mattress pad" on the search area and then look through until you find the Sunbeam Quilted heated mattress pad or something like that. You can check on there to see if it is in stock at a walmart store near you instead of having to order it.
I will be putting it on my bed today, so I will let you know tomorrow how it works out and if it is worth it! I think if I used anything electric on my bed that I would short it. I sweat so much when I sleep that I would be afraid of electricuting myself. We haven't turned it on yet, but I am so excited about it that I am ready to go to bed already! I do have to say that it did fit on my bed very nicely. I was worried because I have an egg crate mattress and a memory foam topper on top of my mattress. But, I had no trouble getting it to fit. I also cannot feel the wires through the quilting...so far, so good. I had an ok body day, but my lumps on the back of my ribs...especially on my left side are super swollen today...not sure why except that I did clean out the bedroom today...the drawers, dusted, vacuumed, etc. and then I cooked a candlelit dinner and made John a heart shaped cake. We broke out the china we got for our wedding and turned off the TV and the lights. It was very nice.
