Q. What is the difference between an ElectroWarmth® bedwarmer and an electric blanket? A. An electric blanket is used as a covering, the bedwarmer is used under the bedding. You sleep ON it, not UNDER it. The bedwarmer attaches directly to your mattress and is covered up by your normal bedding. ElectroWarmth® bed warmers are much more energy efficient than an electric blanket because of the way they are used. Your covers hold in the heat that rises from below. The heat from an electric blanket rises from above you and escapes into the room. Q. My home heating costs are high, will this warmer cost me more for electricity? In fact, with an ElectroWarmth® bedwarmer, you can turn down the heat in your home during the night and still sleep comfortably. By turning down the heat in your home, you will not only save on heating fuel costs, but your furnace blower, refrigerator and freezer will also run less in a cooler house. This will help reduce power costs. Our free brochure includes a chart showing some examples of annual heating cost savings.

Q. How do I know what size I need? A. The model number of each warmer indicates its width. For 115 volt fitted bed warmers, you need to match the warmer to your bed size in both width and length. For 12 volt non-fitted warmers, our T36 which is 36″x60″ fits on any mattress that 36″ or wider. In general you don’t use the T36 on a mattress that is less than 36″ wide. You can use two T36’s on a bed that is at least 72″ wide. and the size is determined by the width of the mattress. The warming pad can be narrower but not wider than your mattress. For example the model T30 measures 30 inches wide by 60 inches long, and can be used for a single sized mattress or on one side of a queen-sized mattress. Q. What do the bed warmers look like? A. The bed warmers very much resemble a mattress pad. They are made of white material, and are about 1/2 inch thick. The 115 volt fitted models are like a fitted sheet and have extra cloth at the head of the bed that allows the warmer to cover the entire mattress, and has a skirt with elastic all around the warmer to hold the warmer in place.

The wires are inserted into the pads. This is done in such a way that you do not feel the wires when you are laying on the warmer. The 12 volt mattress pad model has several cloth tabs sewn around its border with which you safety pin (pins are provided) the warmer to your mattress. Q. Are ElectroWarmth® bed warmers washable? A. The ElectroWarmth 115 volt fitted warmers have detachable cords and can be machine washed on a gentle cycle. A. The ElectroWarmth 12 volt bunk warmers are not equipped with detachable cords and must be hand washed. Since the bed warmers are used underneath your bed coverings, there is not much need to clean them on a regular basis. Q. Are they safe if something is spilled on them (or a child wets the bed)? The heating element wires within the bed warmers are shielded. In the case of bed wetting, there is also a cleanliness issue. We recommend covering the bedwarmer with a rubber sheet that can be purchased at stores such as Wal-Mart. The rubber sheet will help keep the bed warmer clean and will reduce the need to clean it regularly.

Q. How does the bedwarmer stay in place under the covers? A. The 115 volt fitted bedwarmer is very similar to a fitted sheet in that it covers the entire mattress and is held in place using elastic all around the skirt of the bedwarmer. The 12 volt bunk warmers are held in place by pinning the warmer, stretched out on the mattress, through tabs that are located along the ends and sides of the pad. Q. Can I use a bed warmer on an adjustable bed?The fitted models are recommended, and work very well. In fact, customers using adjustable beds represent one of the largest percentages of bed warmer users. Q. Does the Comfort Control temperature control make a clicking sound when you change the temperature setting? The temperature control is very quiet and transitions smoothly from one temperature setting to another. Q. What sort of warranty is there? A. ElectroWarmth® bed warmers come with a full one year guarantee. If anything goes wrong with the bedwarmer during that first year, it will be repaired or replaced as the factory deems necessary.

After the year warranty has expired, low-cost factory-direct service is available if it is ever needed. ElectroWarmth® bed warmers are high quality products and have very few problems. We have customers that have had the same bedwarmer for 30 years without need for maintenance. Q. Do you have a satisfaction guarantee? A. Yes we do. We have a full 30 day satisfaction guarantee. If during that time you determine that the bedwarmer is not meeting your needs, we will be happy to have you return it. We are confident that once you have a bedwarmer that you will never want to be without it. Q. Where are the bed warmers made? A. ElectroWarmth® bed warmers are manufactured in the United States in the state of Ohio. Q. In my electric blanket, I can feel the heating wires and they are uncomfortable to me. Are the heating wires in an ElectroWarmth® bedwarmer uncomfortable as well? The heating wires used in ElectroWarmth® bed warmers are inserted into the padding of the warmer in order to make them undetectable when you are sleeping.

Q. On the website, I saw several testimonials… are they real?Every testimonial we feature on the website and on the free brochure was submitted by people that have purchased an ElectroWarmth®bedwarmer and was unsolicited. Q. What do you recommend for young children or elderly people? A. We recommend that the person using the bedwarmer be able to adjust the temperature control and be able to know what to do if they are too warm. We do not recommend the bed warmer for children under the age of 5. Q. Can I use a bed warmer in my camper or trailer? A. The warmer will pay for itself in just a couple days in fuel savings alone. You will also be cutting down on air pollution from the exhaust fumes from your truck. Our bunk warmers are in use all over the United States by many trucking fleets.
